So I've been buying flavored BCAAs from other brands but got to the point where I can hardly choke them down. Artificial flavors and stevia etc really gross me out. I thought surely the plain ones would be vile because those artificial flavors are SO strong -- they must be covering something up? And yes, I read reviews about how impossible the plain ones are to choke down. Anyway, I was prepared... I mixed my first dose with a couple ounces each of lemon juice and ginger juice, then chased it with the recommended 10 oz water. It was fine and I didn't taste anything but juice. (I love lemon and ginger and could chug either one straight.) Today I tried it plain in water. Also fine. Yes there's a bitter flavor, but it's not too bad. Halfway through it got just a little unpleasant and I mixed in some lemon juice. That was perfect. What else can I say? It mixes great.

This is my first time taking BCAA from Naked, and this may apply to first timers as well. When i first took it, directly mixed raw with water, i felt like throwing up, really. The taste was awful, obviously because it's my first time. The next day i was expecting it to be like this, but nope, it tasted normal, i was used to it i guess, which i was surprised by, but impressed. Why it works: I took it about 2 hours before my workout, and i can tell you, this is the REAL DEAL. I was able to go 5 pounds over on the bench press than i used to, my regular bench press was even normal for me, and it didn't feel that heavy. I went 5 pounds over on the dumbbell incline. Now i'm not saying this is a drug and the result may be different for you, but i've been working out for a while now, so that's something i was able to try. My workout lasted about 30 mins more than i used to, and i still feel like i'm not done working out. It's like taking red bull, but without the artificial ingredients. It's like it wakes up your whole body and brings out your natural reserved energy. I definitely saw improvements the same day and even few days after, in my workout strength, as for muscle improvements, it's too early to tell cause i just started using it few days ago. This is a product i'm definitely gonna buy again for sure. Now i don't recommend abusing it, because i don't take this everyday, i use it moderately. Very good product.

Yeah, everyone’s right, this stuff stinks...so what? Sure, it’s a powerful stink, but it disappears the moment you add it to any liquid, leaving absolutely no flavor (that I can taste) at all. So, I’ve been using this steadily for a little over a month now, and I really think it’s a great product all around. I was regularly sore after intense workouts from my trainer, I mean nearly every day I’d see her. Since using this (along with Naked Creatine, which I also love), I’ve had only one instance of intense soreness post workout, and even then it was while I was also very sick with a sinus infection, so I’m sure my body not being well overall didn’t help with my recovery. I love that it’s flavorless, too, so on days I screw up and don’t add it to my preworkout protein shake, I can just toss it in a tiny amount of plain water (like half a cup tops) in a blender bottle and just chug it to get it inside my body. The cost for 100 servings can’t be beat, either. I’ll definitely repurchase this when I run out. As a side note, the stank can serve a purpose from time to time if need be. We visited CO a few weeks ago and found ourselves with a few extra treats we couldn’t finish while there, so we stashed them in the BCAAs just in case we were pulled over on the way home. The smell of the BCAAs completely covered any smell our Colorado goodies had. So...bonus?!

Flavor is not great (since it is unflavored that is what I expected- chalky and slightly bitter). You have to mix it up with something to make it work. Overall great product though.

I bought this product due to wanting something that did not have all the extra stuff in it, as well as I am vegan and was looking for natural products. I was concerned about buying it due to the reviews of the smell and taste. I drink mine with maybe 1-2 ounces of water to get it down when I am in a hurry. The smell is a tad bit off putting but nothing over the top. I've used other bcaa's and they smell nice and fruity because they have all the added extra stuff. The taste is not bad, if I am planning to drink it while I'm working out I use a scoop in a bottle of water and I honestly can't taste anything but my water. When I do the 1-2 ounces of water there is a slight bitter taste but nothing too bad. Overall a great product that I will be buying again!

I purchased the unflavored one. It is absolutely disgusting. It taste like you threw up in your mouth a little. No joke! I've tried mixing it in strong flavored drinks to mask the taste and NOTHING works. I don't know if it is actually a good supplement because I haven't been able to finish drink.

Mixes in to my protein smoothies perfectly. I see others talking about the smell but, honestly, I don't notice any at all. As for taste, I haven't tried it plain, with water, but I don't like my protein shakes with water either. I really appreciate the fact that this comes in an unflavored form. Hard for to find these days because absolutely everything flavored seems to have Stevia, sucralose, or some other artificial sweetener. I hate the taste of any sweeteners other than sugar or honey, and my digestive tract doesn't like the artificial stuff either. I don't drink or eat anything sugary either since I eat "clean", so this unflavored is perfect for me. I started working out hard at the gym 6 days a week back in February after a major surgery and cardiac arrest during that left me unable to get any real exercise for over a year. Naturally, my muscles were very sore the day after workouts, until I found this product. By adding in a scoop of Naked BCAAs, I rarely have soreness. That's in spite of my weekly increase in reps, sets, and machine weights.

The amount of people complaining about taste is absurd. This is an unsweetened, unflavoured, and uncoloured product. I.e. the cleanest and simplest form. Obviously if you drink this with water it’s going to be a bad experience. I mix this with whey and creatine, and can’t even taste it. This product contains the three high demand BCAAs that your body seeks during exercise in a 2:1:1 ratio - brilliant. 5/5 stars

Tbh this smells like any aminos, smells absolutely horrible and tastes bad if you drink it with a small amount of water, this is expected with such clean ingredients. Nonetheless you can put it in shakes with no issues.. clean and effective - taste is something you will have to get used to.

This is easy to use and pretty tasteless. I mix it with a couple other things and it blends up great. I’ll definitely continue to buy from this brand.

I’ve used bcaa’s before but this has strong flavour/smell. It seems to work but quite more pungent than other brand. May be a good thing?
