It sounds like a Marshall.
I saw some videos of this pedal after looking at a $700 tube plexi pedal. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. I was amazed. So I bought one. I run it as a preamp, into a 6L6 power amp section of a Crate head I have, through the EQ, noise gate and delay, then 6L6 power amp, into 4x12. I pair this rig with a JCM 900 SL-X, 50watt half-stack. They sound great together! Not everything pairs with my JCM900, because Marshall's are their own beast. But the Plexi Drive is so "in the family" it's amazing. The controls act like Marshall controls, with a very wide range and sensitivity. I mean the characteristics from the distortion and and presence are like any Marshall I've fooled with. So, it's worth the "fifty bucks" in spades!!

Pure Crap
I've built 11 pedal boards around mainly budget pedals which have clearly come a long way over the past few years. I have some JOYO pedals. Some Tone City pedals and so forth. They are well-built and sound great. I imagine that NUX makes some decent pedals but unfortunately this pedal is not one of them. Because the controls are mounted to the circuit board they are very flimsy. The quality of distortion is thin and even with the level cranked there's still not enough to compete with other pedals. Mine is in the spare/crap pedal drawer. Might it sound better on another board with other pedals? I don't know. But because of the lack of quality of this pedal I'm not going to bother to find out.

Excellent seller!
Seller shipped to the States in a flash! Product arrived in excellent condition. Thank youUpdate on product: Perfect pedal. Running through a Marshall Origin 50 gives me the versatility I need to go from playing rocknroll from the 60s through present day. The Origin 50 on its own growls the classic rock tones and this pedal while not exact does roar the JCM800 sounds. Strapped and ready to rock!

NuX Plexi Crunch - Great Sound, Great Value
Bought this having seen numerous on line reviews. Great value pedal, gives me the sound that I want. Folk will argue which type of Marshall Tone it emulates...I'm no expert in Marshall amps but it does what I want. It's a bright pedal and works well with humbucker pickups (e.g. Les Paul), which have an inherently dark/warm tone. Also sounds good with brighter single coils (e.g. Stratocaster/Telecaster). You have to tame the brightness of the pedal to optimize the tone. That is highly dependant on your guitar/amp EQ settings, but for me the following work well for all my guitars (see above). Essentially this is Preamp (gain/drive) high, Master (Volume/Level) low, Tone (EQ) mid and Presence (HF emphasis) low:Master (Volume/Level) 8.5 o'clockPreamp (Gain/Drive) 3 o'clockTone (EQ) 9 o'clockPresence (HF Emphasis) 9 o'clockOf course everyone will have there own tonal preferences.Had been using a Boss DS-1 to produce a tight distorted tone, but found that the NuX Plexi Crunch was even better...provided you keep the presence control low.
