Excellent!
Bought this for my husband so he'd have a fine-toothed ratchet lying around should he need it.The result was me buying the 3/8" and 1/2" sizes so he could replace all of his rachets at work!He's a heavy equipment mechanic and is absolutely in love with the design, construction, and performance!The handle shape is very comfortable and performs well when covered in grease and oil.Absolutely wonderful purchase and would order again.

Good deal
Very nice ratchet for the price. Fine teeth allow for movement in tight spaces. Quality seems good enough for occasional use. I’m likely going to buy the different sizes.

Handle design makes it easy to use
This ratchet seems to be very well made. Parts fit perfectly and the action is smooth. I looked for one with a shaped handle and this is one of the few that isn't round. This style makes it much easier to use, since the 1/4 in tool is already small. The shape makes it easy to orient in my hand. Price is about right for a quality piece.

The quality of the ratchet
The workmanship and feel of the ratchet does points to the quality of the item. I have owned the rachet for a short period of time, however, the feel and operation of the product is superb. I own a snap-on and Craftsman 1/4" rachets and the ARES rachet compares to those named ratchets. Only time will tell if the ARES is as good as the Craftsman. The Craftsman ratchet is a made in the USA version from the 1980's era.

They’re nice
I bought these as a gift for my dad. His old ratchets were pretty iffy, and would sometimes jump a tooth on the pawl. He seems to really like them. The finish on them is nice, and the action is very smooth.

Does the job
I dont know why they wanted to be special, because the switch on this ratchet is opposite to every other ratchet out there I know. Instead of tightening it lossens, and instead of loosening it tightens... It gets very confusing for someone that works with many ratchets for difirent jobs. Very bad decision on their part, not going to recommend this product to anyone.
