The insights in this book are deep and profound. Sacks is a joy to read. The chapters are short; reading one a week with time to think about it before moving on is perfect. Great for Bible study and discussion. Love and appreciation of the wisdom inherent in the Old Testament will deepen through Sack's scholarship.

Rabbi Sacks never fails to present the teachings and wisdom of the Torah eloquently and insightfully. He explains the text so clearly and offers the historical background and commentary of the sages, elucidating the teachings and making complex points easy to understand. His work is a blessing and a gift to be shared.

I have all five of Rabbi Sacks’ books “Covenant and Conversations” - one for each of the first five books of the Bible. He provides wisdom and thought provoking insights for each section of each of the five books. I highly recommend for clergy, religious school teachers, Bible students, and anyone who just enjoys reading the Bible who wants a clearer understanding or anyone just beginning her or his journey into a spiritual relationship with G-d. No prior experience required.

For a person curious about the real Jewish heritage fulfilled in Jesus this is a must read to help connect Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Johnathan Sachs is easy to read, well thought out, with lots of reference materials to go even further into Bible exploration.

Rabbi Sacks brings his intellect and sharp perception to his latest volume of Torah study. He opens with an overview of the book of Numbers and an analysis of the book's structure that offers insights not only into the book but into the nature of freedom and order. As he often does, Rabbi Sacks brings the Torah wisdom into the present with a perspective that is directly relevant to the forces of chaos in our modern world as we struggle to balance freedom and order. This is a great addition to anyone's library of Torah. This book is so good, I bought both the hard copy and Kindle versions in order to have it with me when I travel.

I received the book after 2 days of my order. The unique bad thing was that I received the book with the cover a little bit torn.
