Really?? Disrespectful. Not opening the door for women. ☆☆ ☆☆Funny story: I would go for lunch and would open the door for women leaving the building at the same time. Most thanked me. I got tired of one woman that never acknowledged me so I started to open the door but stopped.. she almost ran into it. She looked at me with disdain. I told her that she has never thanked me for months of me opening the door for her. She apologized and thanked me (in front of her girl friends). I then went to a coffee shop and she followed me in and started a conversation.. after a couple minutes of talking she asked me if I'd like to go for a drink after work... I said "Thank you but no." Her true colors came out when she got offended and asked if I was gay. I said, "no, just happily married". Crazy woman!☆☆ Being rude and overbearing with coworkers. ((eh hem Gibbs on NCIS. It's one thing to be passionate about something but being condescending is uncalled for.)) There's too many to mention but you get the gist of it. Why is it so hard? Some Actors, Musicians, Artists, Reality shows are teaching our young to be idiots. Basically, your book would help everybody. Sorry for ranting and rambling.. I haven't reached that chapter yet😉 Novel by Larry

Great gift!
Great book for men wanting to brush up on their etiquette. It goes beyond basic manners to cover relationships, friendships in real world scenarios with practical examples. The recipient mentioned the information in the book helped him feel much more confident and relaxed in social settings.

Everyone needs this.
My mother let me read her Emily Post book when I was young and I've tried to be a gentleman all my life.. still work in progress. Essential Reading for Men
Peter Post is the grandson of Emily Post who wrote a famous book on manners. This edition picks on some of the basic tenants from the book, but the focus is on men. The book is organized not three parts: Part 1: Daily Life; Part 2: Social Life; Part 3 On the job. There are definitely some good things in this book, such as table manners. A weakness in the book is the section on dress codes. It lacks depth and details on how to dress in different social situations. I mean a lot of people struggle with this. So I think in future editions it should be expanded upon. In addition, there needs to be an expanded section on dating. Overall though, I found the book to be very informative and I would recommend reading.

It is Great!
very easy to reed! it is like story but with very powerful information! then I start to follow advices and examples what is in book I am more self controlled in different situations in job in home in meetings. I like it very much! Most interesting is to use this information in real life, at the moment it is difficult because need to change my comfort zone! Thank you for this great book!

Great book, straight to the point and easy enjoyable reading.
The book is an updated version of basic manners for a gentleman. It dealt with the new technology, especially the overused cellphone and social media. It is a great book for those who need a quick refresher course and for those who do not have a clue about manners.

Perfect
This book is written in a style that is easy to read and is not off putting in any way. The tone is relaxed and, best of all, it explains why some courtesies have developed over the years. The explanation makes the "rules" more palatable. The whole book is like and "aha" moment.

Kind of like "The Game" by Neil Strauss
I think the big Emily Post book of Ettiquette is more bang for the buck, but this one for Men specifically is helpful if you can swallow your conscience and want to advantage of the rewards patriarchy has to offer. Kind of like "The Game" by Neil Strauss.

For the most part, the content is fairly obvious ...
For the most part, the content is fairly obvious and those who need to read it are unlikely to actually do so. I was hoping for more on the 'why' aspect of this topic but largely it boils down to their survey results which identify the behaviours that women expect/appreciate from men.
