I cannot recommend this book enough. Very well written, exceptionally well researched and simply put....a very engaging read. The author takes a deep dive into Viking culture and history and does not miss a beat. I discovered facts and events I had no idea about. Definitely worth a read!

The author is clearly very educated in Viking history, which really made this so fun to read and incredibly interesting. This was a great resource as well. I was fascinated learning about how Vikings differed in appearance from us and their diets. Very interesting. I enjoyed learning about their longhouses and could help but draw comparisons between them and Native Americans in the pacific northwest. I also enjoyed learning about the legendary vikings. This was well done. I'll be reading it again.

I’ve read all of Lucas Russo’s previous books and enjoyed them thoroughly, and this one was not the exception. His way of writing and informing on the topic is detailed yet easy to comprehend. I feel like i am part of the moment when reading these books because I can imagine everything as I’m reading and personally, thats what I enjoy most about reading. I highly recommend this book, especially if viking history is a topic of interest for you.

If the names Ragnar, Cnut, Hervor, or Freydis are new to you, then consider reading about these legendary Vikings, their battles, and their fascinating culture.This short, informative publication by Mr. Russo sheds light on, uncovers, the entire Viking culture. It also includes a long list of references with hyperlinks. An interesting read.

I love reading history books and this one didn't disappoint. It is an eye-opening account of Viking life beyond the battlefield. I felt that the LGBTQ+ connections are interesting and relevant to today's readers. Aside from that, the book covers a wide range of information about Viking life that paints a vivid picture of what they were like. Highly recommended!

This small book is an east, quick read and a good start to understanding basic Viking history and lore. The authors writes in such a way the material is quickly understood.It is all outlined and categorized to make learning easier as well. I did find the author''s writing style to be redundant often using the same descriptors over and over.

This is a very good book. I enjoyed reading it and learning about my ancestors. I next want to read about viking textiles and viking naalbinding.

Such a great initial guide into viking history. Its not too long and not too short, however it talks in detail about all the viking culture and history. Its an easy and enjoyable read and the author’s way of writing is different to all the other ones I’ve read. Cant wait to read the other books from this guy.
