Best Nib for Beginners and Experienced Users!
If you’re new to calligraphy everyone says start with the Nikko G nib. I disagree. I believe you should start with these, Brause Steno 361. The ink flow is superb, they’re much easier to get used to applying variable pressure, and they don’t catch on paper with upstrokes like the Nikko G does. It’s by far my favorite nib. If you’re just getting started, do yourself a favor and buy these along with the Nikko G.

Highly recommended
These are very well made dip pen tips. I am not a professional artist. But I do appreciate the art. I highly recommend these.

Perfect for Modern Calligraphy and Roundhand/Copperplate/Engrosser's Script
The media could not be loaded. I purchased these nibs as an alternative to my Hunt 101 nibs, which use up a lot of ink and achieve thick downstrokes and very thin hairlines. These nibs are a gorgeous blue that fades over time wherever ink has touched it (yes, I clean my nibs immediately after use), use much less ink than the Hunt 101's, and achieve a similar look to the 101 nibs. However, the blue pumpkins are less flexible and achieve thinner downstrokes and thicker hairlines than the Hunt 101's. In regard to the arrival of the nibs, they came well packaged but one of the nib's flanges were overlapping and I easily fixed it by bending the tips of the nib. It took longer to remove the protective coating around these nibs compared to my Hunt 101's because I had to use the potatoe method twice. Overall, this is a great purchase and the nibs are much more begginer-friendly than the Hunt 101s. Nonetheless, the Hunt 101 nibs continue to be my favorite, but these are a great alternative for practice.Update: I have only used the first nib three times and it has rusted and become completely useless, so buyer beware. For my second nib, I removed the protective coating with acetone (nail polish remover) and a cotton swab, and immediately rinsed it with tap water. The color has come off after several uses, but the nib has not rusted. I still have not used my third nib.

Writes smoothly, fun to use
At first I thought I only got one of the three nibs—but they nest so smoothly into each other that I only noticed when I pulled them out of the packaging.I’ve only used one so far. It’s smooth writing. Load it up and it starts right out with smooth lines, no big blob at beginning of first stroke.I’ll use this primarily for drawing, and I think it will be very nice to use. With a dip pen you can change ink color quickly without having several pens at hand. I want to try watercolor in it, and white ink for whiskers!

You must soak these in acetone or you will not like them.
It was like night vs. day after I soaked them in acetone. I tried soaking in alcohol and it did nothing. Washing with soap amd water did nothing. I thought about trying to return them! However, after I soaked the nibs in acetone they wrote how I was hoping they would. They are fairly smooth for a nib that doesn’t have a rounded ball at the tip. They definitely give your writing a special look to it. This could easily become the nib that I try to write with if I send handwritten correspondence so that my writing has some recognizable flair to it. It was the only nib I bought recently that created any line variation by applying more or less pressure. All my other bits seem to make a consistent line no matter what I do which is great for expected consistency but kind of boring. These “blue pumpkin” nibs I guess they call them are anything but boring. They make each and every line made on a paper look a little more eccentric than any other nib. This is a scribes nib. This is the kind of nib you make a choice about using because the way you write will say something about who you are. This nib may just get your writing noticed or blessed with compliments for your exquisite penmanship. (I won’t tell that it’s not you it’s the magic of the blue pumpkin!)

They’re Okay
I wish they didn’t scratch/catch on the paper so much.

Love these nibs!
I bought some others at a local craft store and couldn't get them to hold any ink. I thought something was wrong with my technique. But then these were recommended to me. They work wonderfully and are a pleasure to use!
