Excellent grater to make Puerto Rican pasteles.
We bought this grater after failing to find a vegetable grater to make Puerto Rican pasteles. As we ordered the grater, we had concerns that it wouldn’t be powerful enough to process vegetables like pumpkins, malanga (yaitia), which are quite firm. The grater was shipped and received in a few days. The grater was simple to use. We followed recomendations from a YouTuber that suggested cutting the vegetables in smaller pieces and letting them sit in a pot of water for a few minutes before grating these. The grater worked great. It grated the vegetables in little time and the consistency of the “masa” mixture was excelent. We have used the grater twice to process vegetables for more than 50 pasteles. The grater is easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. We recommend this grater for home use.

Great grater
For grating raw potatoes or hard veg to a puree, this works exceptionally well. Essential for Lithuanian and some other cuisines. As an alternative some use a blender, but for high volumes this is the thing to get. It’s a simple durable device with a strong motor, and this design has been around for years. I don’t know why I waited so long to get mine…actually I do; it’s because it’s mostly a uni-tasking machine. But it uni-tasks exceptionally well (like a commercial meat/cheese slicer).

Good for basic grating...
Used my grater yesterday. It did the job well. The motor of the machine is solid and a little heavy. But the motor performance is not as strong as I was expecting. For the motor to be functional for cassava make sure that the cassava is cut in small pieces. I highly recommend for all ingredients to be grated to be cut in small pieces. Never put pressure for the vegetables to be grated. The machine will suffocate and get stuck. Once done with grating, clean the grating area and the cover because you will find plenty of grated material in the surrounding areas. This is not a commercial machine. So be tender when using. My experience was that it did the job for what I basically needed. My expectations were higher than what I experienced. I expected a more powerful motor. The blades of the grater attachment could have been more effective if the design included four blades rather than two. If in the near future, if the company makes such changes to the design (stronger motor and four blades) the grating outcome experience can be amazing. In summation, it basically did the job for my "alcapurrias de cangrejo" (crab patties).

Purposely manufacturered!
Purposely manufacturered! The good: 1. it does what it was manufactured todo. Mesh or puree vegetables or fruits to make a smooth, blended food or fruit drink. 2. The cost pays for itself, if you spend anytime in the kitchen this machine will save you time. 3. Cleaning is a snap, everything comes apart, total of 5 pieces all plastic accept for the 2 metal blades, that's it. For clarification: To mesh, means to combine or blend ingredients together, often implying a somewhat coarse texture where pieces are still noticeable, while "to puree" means to break down food into a completely smooth consistency. A puree is completely smooth and uniform, (Not this machine) while a meshed food might still have small particles depending on the mesh size, that's definitely this machine, it works well for my needs. Cons: IMHO None! My personal suggestion: Dice or break down hard or solid fruits or vegetables in cubes, such as. Potatoes, Carrots, Cassava or Coconuts for desserts. Walnuts or almonds are fine because they are much smaller to begin with. Hope this helps, I'm a handyman that enjoys spending time in the kitchen. I believe in making things simple for everyone else. 5 stars all the way! Can't go wrong....

Ten cuidado
Tenga cuidado, desde el primer día el producto no funcionó a su máxima capacidad. El mío soltó fuego y ahora simplemente no funciona y tengo demasiado miedo de volver a intentarlo. Debería haber escuchado las reseñas.

Verute Electric Grater.
Exactly what I was looking for. Used it this morning to make Acadien Poutine Râpé, it did the job no problem, very easy to clean. The only thing negative about it is it’s price tag. Very expensive!

For those who purchased this grater like I did .I just want you to know that when you use it,don’t put any pressure on whatever you’re grating because it will jam up.No pressure needed.First time using it today, and it worked great. So far very happy

No electrical certification for US/Canada
The product carries some European certification markings but no markings for North America (US/Canada) electrical safety. The product is made in Lithuania and has a certain feel of a late Soviet kitchen appliance (for better or worse). Other than that the product works well. The main disk is cast aluminum, reasonably well balanced with little vibration and no-skid feet. Blades do not look stainless so I am keeping mine dry and away from acidity. Availability of parts is encouraging (compare to unrepairable made in China stuff). Solid 4/5.
