I will havevto keep my eye on this. Seems to be running a bit fast. It's only been set for 15 minutes, and I can tell it is a bit ahead. Was easy to replace my old mechanism. It did come with a simple set of hands that I won't be using. It is quiet. No tick tic tic. So I've had it a few weeks. It has stopped running 3 times. I reset it and it works for about another week. UPDATE: It's crap. It stops all the time. I can reset 4 times a day and it will quit running again. Don't buy this. 3 months later I finally replaced it.

I ordered 2, 1 to replace and old mechanism and 1 as a spare. The day they arrived I installed 1 for our kitchen and then a neighbour complained their clock had just stopped so after checking it wasn't a battery problem installed the "spare" for them. Each installation took under 10 minutes and both have been working well since. The time for the shipment to reach me was a few weeks and it seems I need to order again since I gave away the "spare"

Couldn't use the hands on my clock due to the stem on this being too big. Had to use the hands that came with it and makes me clock look weird. Its very quiet and keeps up on time, feels durable enough.

The second hand movement on this is the continuous sweep type vs. the tick tick tick 1 second at a time second hand movement on the failed one I was replacing. I hadn't even considered that before I ordered and don't care much but the clock is a fake pendulum clock so a continuous sweep second hand makes it seem even more fake. After 24 hours of use it is still 100% accurate. I used the hands from the clock but I had to use a small circular file to bore them out slightly before they would fit onto the shafts of this new movement. To the naked eye the shafts on this one looks the same as the old one but its obviously a bit thicker since the hands wouldn't fit. Once I bored the hour & minute hands out they worked perfectly. I also had to widen the hole on the plastic second hand. I did that by just jamming a push pin into it which widened it and then the second hand fit perfectly. I cant complain for less than $5 delivered but if I were doing it again I might get one that comes with hands so you'll know they'll fit and I might have tried to find a movement with the tick tick 1 second a time second hand movement vs. continuous sweep that this has.

We have this old clock on our patio wall that my wife bought at an Estate Sale. It's fairly big with a glass face which would probably place it somewhere from the 1970's - 80's. Recently it quit working (new battery did not fix), and my wife begged me to get it repaired. I found this quartz mechanism which was reasonably priced, and it was "bare bones". (I did not need clock hands or a hanger since I intended to keep the clock original). The unit arrived promptly, and it was an exact fit for the old clock! I was mentally ready to have problems with the clock hands, but they also fit perfectly! And what what's really great is that this quartz movement keeps absolutely excellent time! I would definitely recommend.

Excellent quiet operation, great value. Some clock hand stems are larger diameter and may not fit.

This was a great way to keep my favourite wall clock that no longer kept time. I will say it is running just a bit slow, so that over the course of a week it is about 2 minutes behind.

So, this may be my fault, but I thought that a clock replacement was a standard size. The length of the “arm” that sticks out is considerably shorter than the one I was replacing. I spent an hour shaving the back of my clock to get it to fit - successfully! But then the clock hands didn’t fit! So the arm was not only shorter than I needed, but also skinnier? It is literally in the garbage now. Literally. But like I said, I guess it’s my fault. Buyer beware. These are not standard sizes.
