The Bible from 30,000 Feet: Soaring Through the Scriptures in One Year from Genesis to Revelation

Among the many reasons I Love this book is the easy to read style it is written. There is an excellent flow throughout the entire book. I also Love how the Author lends his considerable research helping the reader understand the context in the content. When passages are placed/used out of context trouble ensues. Obviously, this Author understands the importance of accuracy and historical context. I greatly appreciate this Authors diligence, he is a truly gifted educator. I highly recommend everyone read this book 1st before reading the Holy Bible! I know this is a huge claim but fact is the Bible is not a book. It's a library of books spanning thousands of years of history! When seen for what it is, it's daunting at best just to read, but to actually grasp in it's entirety? Well, certainly beyond my processes. Perhaps this is why so many people either don't read it at all or only out of context little bits here and there, or just the New Testament. That's like only eating dessert and never eating a true balanced nutritional meal. Which brings me back to why I Love Skip Heitzig and this Book. Yes, it is perfectly named, it is an overview, an overview with in-depth insights into the cultures, there are so many Aha ! moments. The connections he makes from beginning to end is nothing short of fascinating. Genuinely, this is my favorite book that I've ever read. So much so that I also purchased my next book to read, The Bible From 30,00 Feet Workbook.Thank You Skip, You will certainly hear, Well done good and faithful servant!

Im going with 5 stars as the writing style is good and flows well, with great theological points made. it is a well written, often humorous exposition which gives a good summary of biblical books.The author needs to fix some historical errors. Ive read halfway through, and have noted a few things:- in the Ezra summary, Artexerxes didn't rule before Darius, and wasn't alive when Zerubabbel's temple went up- in the Esther summary, Philip 2 of Macedon wasn't an issue for Xerxes as he wouldn't even be born for another 100 years.

Skip Heitzig is wonderful at explaining the Bible via his series The Bible from 30,000 feet. The teachings are factual, in a way you can understand.

I've read through the Bible more than once and was looking something with overview insights yet grounded in truth. I really like this and go at my own pace. I have had much to think about from what I've read.

Skip Heitzig is an excellent preacher. This book is biblically sound and provides a "deep enough" treatment of all 66 books of the Bible. I am enjoying this book...it helps me decide which book to select for Bible study.

I’ve been watching skip on his website his teaching is so complete so easy to understand.Isiah has been a hard book for me and skip makes it so easy!So now I have his book which is word for word to his video.Since I am a big note taker this book does it for me.All I have to do is read and highlight.Thank you Skip.

This gift is a present for my dad on Christmas. While the actual inside of the book looks great. The cover of the book was delivered with various black and white marks on different parts of the cover. I’ll still give my dad the book, but hate that that this new book already has marks on it before being used.

I am so excited that don’t want to put the book down. It’s Easy to understand and breaks the chapters in little pieces . I feel empowered and hungry for more of God. Falling more in love with the word and Jesus 😭
