The X-Files: Earth Children Are Weird: A Picture Book (Pop Classics)

As an X-Files fan and collector of X-Files memorabilia, even knowing that this was a stand alone children's book that wasn't going to have anything to do with the actual series, I had to have it. Just seeing the amazing artwork by Kim Smith on the cover was enough to reel me in.I was pleasantly surprised when the book arrived. From the cover image that Amazon has displayed, I thought the book was going to be a flimsy paperback book with a glossy looking cover. Nope. This book is huge! And, it's hardcover (with a sleeve).The images are amazing! Kim Smith is really great at what she does. The story is really cute, too. Again, if you're an X-Phile, the story doesn't have anything to do with the series other than the mention of aliens and what would be deemed "spooky" or "scary" for kids, but it's still a fun ride depicting our favorite characters as kids investigating creepy situations. The book is a quick read, too, making a great story for bedtime.

I'm a childless adult, but a big X-Files fan and a kid at heart with an appreciation for illustration. That said, this book aligns well with my interests, and the purchase was a done deal as soon as I heard about it. :) The book delivers - It's adorable, X-Filesy, and just the tiniest bit creepy (It's child-friendly, of course). Scully and Mulder, or "Dana" and "Fox" as they're referred to in this book (naturally - they're children here) are true to character in a simple, delightful little story. It's a supe- cute reimagining of the pair as childhood friends. The illustrations are beyond adorable - vibrant and reminiscent of classic Golden Books. A great addition to my recently growing collection of X-FIles spinoff publications. Yay for this book. I'm happy it exists. :)

fun to read as Fox and Dana go on their crazy adventures.

Got this for my niece for her birthday. Wanted to introduce her to what I consider is one of if not the greatest show ever created. And an added bonus, it's bigger than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be the size of a golden book. That's a great surprise when I opened it up. Can't wait to read this to her.

This is a really cute and well-made book that would appeal to X-files fans and non-fans alike. The illustrations are top notch and the book is well produced with high quality paper that really make the illustrations pop. The story about "Fox" and "Dana" camping out is simple but enjoyable and revolves around the differences between imagination and logic with a classic X-Files ending. I felt the overall message that both imagination and logic are essential and work well together was good and true to the overall X-Files themes while still being kid-friendly. The only part I didn't like was the point in the story when Fox says that he must have a really wild imagination and Dana responds that's the smartest thing he's said. I felt the implication that Fox's imagination was unintelligent was not the right tone/message for a kids book since both are important to have. But this is a minor point and I don't think it detracts from the book at all.Overall, I think this is a great book to add to your collection and would appeal to fans and non-fans alike.

This book is a great book written in the vein of X-Files with both the Mulder and Scully viewpoints depicted throughout. It allows the children to think of both sides to an argument. Cute book!

La historia es sencilla y muy adecuada para niños, es simpática y las ilustraciones son muy bonitas, con detalles que llaman la atención a los niños. Mi hijo se divierte mucho cada vez que lo leemos e inmediatamente me pide que lo vuelva a leer al terminar.
