Diddly Squat: ‘Til The Cows Come Home: The Sunday Times Bestseller: 2 : Clarkson, Jeremy: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Outrageous and hilarious good sense. - Accident prone and completely unqualified in agriculture, Jeremy is nevertheless determined to succeed - if only the bureaucrats would use some logical thinking. Laugh out loud reading at times and frustration over official interference at others. Great fun but also thought-provoking. Review: Jeremy Clarkson hits with another winner - Perhaps I am slightly biased as I am a massive Jeremy Clarkson fan and even more so of him as Farmer Clarkson rather than motor journalist. A brilliant easy reader. Due to the chapters being his weekly columns from the Sunday times they're nicely paced, you can read through a chapter while in the loo, before going to bed, waiting for dinner to cook or, take in a couple of chapters while sat relaxing at home or away. Jeremy offers a behind the scenes look at the goings on at Diddly Squat and the ongoing life and chaos of being a modern farmer in today's world. This book offers tears of both joy and pain as you go through the ups and downs of life on the farm. All the wit, humour and daftness of classic Clarkson.

Shorter than your average book but each page is gold.
Jeremy Clarkson runs a farm called Diddly Squat in the Cotswolds. Here is his tale of life on the farm. ‘Til The Cows Come Home is book 2 in the Diddly Squat series of 5 books. I believe that each book can be read as a stand-alone. I have watched the 4 seasons of Clarkson’s Farm broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. The books give the reader more content about life on the farm than viewers catch from the television series. I was impressed that Jeremy is very good with his words and content, so that no content is repeated in his books or the television series. What you get is unique to that media, although obviously the farm and the people are the same but the anecdotes and incidents are different. ‘Til The Cows Come Home is a jolly and entertaining read, just like his television series. Jeremy writes just the way he talks to camera, very much the bloke in the pub, with a lovely dry sense of humour. He is very opinionated and not politically correct. He is a typical Yorkshireman and calls a spade a spade, for example… This would be acceptable if they were just getting on with it. But this is the thing you don’t realise when you’re constructing a house: builders are like six-year-old children. They need constant supervision. If you let them ‘get on with it’, they fall in ponds and spill paint and drop stuff, and then they all argue and sulk and you have to stop what you’re doing to sort them out. …I found ‘Til The Cows Come Home to be an entertaining and light humorous read with his frank opinions. Jeremy is a very busy man, writing newspaper columns, running a car show - The Grand Tour - running a farm show - Clarkson’s Farm - an internet business, presenting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Writing many books and the day to day running of Diddly Squat farm. Reading this book gives you ‘anecdotes a plenty’ and is very British. I loved the format of this book and although Jeremy is a very well known celebrity, if you had never heard of the man, you would still fall in love with his book. He is so charismatic. I think this is a GOOD 4 star read which leaves you wanting more. There are no dull bits or padding in this book, the editing is spot on but the length is shorter than your average book running to only 223 pages. Each page is gold but there are still only 223 of them.

National treasure ,needs listening to.
Had a bit of an interest in farming which has been really taken a major upturn, mainly due to the magnificent work Jeremy Clarkson and his team have done to highlight the issues farmers face through bureaucracy, weather , external world factors and various inconsiderate governments etc etc. I’ve been in the food industry all my working life ( now retired) specifically the meat industry at the preparation and retail end . In fact all fresh food Meats, fish ,delicatessen, fruit and veg and bakery I think Jeremy Clarkson is a genius communicator, writer and has done so much for the industry … Farmers and farming are our life blood and should be given all the help to provide for now and the future.

A Must-Read Before Watching Season 2 of Clarkson's Farm
Always happy to read Clarkson's latest missives from his time on the farm. Certainly compulsory reading before watching season 2 of the TV show. The hardcover version makes for a great keepsake.
