Discovered after a move my Hakuba S-6000 was missing its plate, so I went in search of a cost-effective replacement. I was a little hesitant but it works great. Fits my tripod and is very sturdy once in place. Honestly quite pleased.

When I first tried to engage this mounting foot onto my tripod, I didn't think it was going to fit into the socket. But I worked at trying to engage it and finally succeeded. It turns out to engage more tightly than the original. This is a good thing; it improves overall stability. I gave "durability" and "versatility" top ratings too, though this is more about anticipation. Ask me in a year and I expect those will reflect my experience. Going on a photoshoot soon!

5 stars because it is as advertised and is a perfectly fine item. However, this will definitively NOT fit 82052 (Celestron Regal model of tripod). It does however fit 82050 (Celestron Trailseeker model of tripod). I have both models of tripod and was able to test. Bummed, because 82052 is the one I wanted it to fit. But they didn't say it would fit the 82052, so no harm done by item or seller.

I am using this mount on a Kalimar Pro-Tech V80 tripod. The footprint of this shoe is the right size but top to bottom play was not acceptable and it is not at all designed for the lock mechanism on the tripod I mentioned and rather for a cam type lock mechanism. Since making this work was cheaper than buying a new tripod I did the following: I used 3mm adhesive backed cork to line the top of the portion that slides into the tripod. That was used and trimmed to shape on the front and two sides and snugged it up removing all free play. Next to give it a secure lock I bent up a piece of 309/309L tig rod to make a spring clamp that locks into the tripod behind this plate and makes it impossible to remove without removing the spring clamp. This is actually more secure than the original correct mechanism. All problems resolved with a little innovation. The shoe I needed hasn't been available for some time so it was up to me to solve and this part made it possible. The shoe itself feels very solid and the only reason I dinged it down one star was because it was advertised as a direct replacement for my tripod and is not as is. It became one, but needed a little help to get there.
