They are metal so I don’t see why you couldn’t paint them.

Yes! I used 3/4” shelf for our laundry room and secured the brackets to studs.

Can these support marble shelves?

Your question is bad. They support weight, not material. It would support elephant, just not a whole one. They will support marble but you need to be much more specific
