Nutri-Vet Extra Strength Hip & Joint Supplement for Dogs | Formulated with Glucosamin & Chondroitin | 120 Chewable Tablets

I think this was the best recommendation a friend ever gave me off of Amazon! I have a senior labrador whose back legs have given out. She must be physically moved on and off the couch and needs accompaniment, walking up and down the stairs, to go outside and standing up. Clearly hip surgery cost thousands of dollars & we have bought multiple products off of Amazon to assist her and some do truly help. I felt it may be too late to give her these supplements for her joints, but I figured it doesn’t hurt to try at this point. I also have a 6 pound ShihPoo, who is very springy and a 3 month old goldendoodle who is already gigantic for her age. My concern was many of my pups over the years, do not like taking supplements. I do not know what miracle liver ingredient is inside these, but they are amazing!All three dogs go nuts when they hear me shake the bottle. I give two full tablets to my senior labrador who weighs 80 pounds - I give half a tablet to my three month old 28 pound golden doodle and a quarter of a tablet to my 6 pound 3 year-old ShihPoo. They gobble these up so quickly and my puppy practically bites my hand to grab it! If I drop one, they all go nuts trying to retrieve it. Now, as for performance, I cannot tell you that the puppy or the ShihPoo are resulting any differently, but the labrador with the hip and joint problems is doing fantastic after two months of taking these every day. She is getting up much more often on her own without assistance and for the first time in a long time, she jumped off the bed on her own yesterday! She still needs assistance, but I am more than happy to see the improvements. I just went and bought another bottle. They are made in the USA and are rather inexpensive compared to other brands. I will admit I bite these in half and quarters myself and they do not taste gross to me. They are not hard as rocks, but nor are they soft but clearly they are easy enough for a tiny dog and a puppy with brand new teeth growing in to chew without a problem. As another reviewer showed in her video that all her dogs lineup for them, I can attest to her review as well. Mine are doing the same exact thing. I also purchased their multivitamins today, hoping I get the same results. Clearly, they have a fan base as my friend who suggested them was also referred these by another. Word-of-mouth is going far in my community and I hope this review entice you as well. Definitely worth it. I will continue to purchase these for as long as they make them. Thank you Nutri vet.

My Pomeranian has luxating patellas, basically a knee problem that has to be corrected with surgery eventually. It's common in a lot of the small breeds and toy breeds but can also affect medium to large dogs. He'd started skipping, that is running or walking holding up his rear leg. At first he was doing it part of the time, but it progressed to all the time. I thought I would try a joint support formula for dogs to see if that helped before we resorted to surgery. He's been taking it for almost 2 months and now he is back to running and walking normally MOST of the time!! If you try this for your dog, give it at least a month, it took about 3 weeks giving it twice a day before we could see a difference. I researched about 10 different joint support formulas before trying this one. In my opinion, this one was the best as far as price and the active ingredients. We also give him 125 mgs of esterized (easy on the stomach) chewable vitamin C once a day. Vitamin C is said to help maintain joint health. I use a pill splitter and cut one Nutri Vet Hip and Joint Plus tablet into 4 quarters, and I give him one quarter in the morning and one quarter at night.Update 1/25/16:My elderly Pomeranian has decided he doesn't like the taste of these tablets so we had to coat them in peanut butter, which worked for a while, then he began getting the peanut butter off the pill and spitting it out lol, so we coated it in peanut butter and wrapped it in a small piece of bread and smashing the bread with the pill inside into a small ball. That worked but it was definitely a hassle. I found a really high quality food made by Victor dog food that has the glucosamine and chondroitin added to the food, along with probiotics, selenium and enzymes. We were able to stop giving him the tablets as the joint supplement is now coming from his food. In the future as he ages, we may have to reconsider giving him the Nutrivet stage 2 or stage 3 joint supplement as their stage 2 and 3 joint supplement has added ingredients besides the glucosamine and chondroitin that will help dogs with more advanced joint issues and pain . When that time comes, we will have to go back to the peanut butter and bread routine as I refuse to spend a fortune on pill pockets for dogs lol.

Price has gradually increased from less than $11 for 120 tabs a year ago to $18 and current price is $38 for 120 tabs. Why???? This product works well for my dogs but I will not be buying it again at this outrageous price. Amazon you lost a customer on this one.

These tablets helped to slow the affects of my elderly dog's arthritis. He has passed away, but two years before he passed he was starting to have great difficulty walking and getting up from a lying position. We could tell he was in a lot of pain and was not enjoying his life, since he could not even get up to greet us. He was not able to do many of his favorite things.A combination of anti-inflammatory pills from the vet and these tablets contributed to a noticeable improvement in his ability to walk and a decrease in stiffness. These tablets take awhile to work (about 2 months) and need to be given regularly to show benefits. But I know they helped to decrease my dog's pain, allowed him to be fairly active and to enjoy the last couple years of his life. Plus it gave us two more wonderful years with him. He was a big dog who lived to 14 years old.Now our 5 year old dog is exhibiting pain and stiffness in his joints, so in addition to a weight loss program, I have started him on these. (As we all know, labs LOVE to eat.) These tablets are less expensive than anti-inflammatory pills from the vet and easier on the stomach when taken long term. I completely believe that glucosamine and chondroitin work because I've seen it with my own eyes.If your dog doesn't like the taste, just add a dab of peanut butter to the top of each tablet and he'll snarf it right up!
