Mydome Wireless Driveway Motion Alarm | DIY Home Security Motion Sensor

Regrettably in the time since I wrote the review below two of the four sensor units I purchased have failed and despite replacing batteries and though repeatedly going through the pairing process it is impossible to reconnect them to the receiving unit.Two are still working well but losing the other two has meant that on two of my doors are without any proximity warning.Those that work are excellent but those that have defected ( within two weeks ) are now just house wall ornaments and not pretty ones at that..**************************************************************************************************************The Sensor are when positioned do detect any motion within the area and broad space they are advertised to cover, however only four meters ( 23ft ) from the receiver unit the signal would not penetrate my stone house walls and I had to bring the sensor to a point much closer and to a location directly over a window to make it work at all. The sensor is now not where I had wanted it to be and thus the area covered is much reduced.I have realised that due to this problem that may in truth be determined by the materials within my house walls and the consequential need to locate them with a direct through glass lineup to the receiver unit I will need three sensors though I had presumed two would have been adequate to cover the two entrances to the house.I have ordered one more sensor though I wish I could have ordered another receiver unit as if what I suspect is correct about the distances and the signal penetration from the sensor to the receiver unit then the sensor I had intended to position to cover my driveway will not have the required signal strength to reach any single receiver unit.I could not test the validity of this theory BECAUSE,There were two sender sensors in the pack and one receiver.One of the sensor senders did and still will not pair with the receiver unit.However; to their credit My Dome upon taking my telephone call immediately took action and dispatched a replacement by Royal Mail that will reach me cost free within the next few days.They 'MyDome were very helpful. Not so much the AMAZON delivery driver who left the garden gate open letting my aging dogs onto what is a very busy country lane. SHAME ON YOU AMAZON !!!!

Well designed and built product. Performance wise with regards to reception of wireless signal from the door bell transmitter i have not had any issues but when you deal with wireless signals be it wifi, mobile or door bells and the like localised environmental issues could have an impact on reception range so it is down to trial and error. This is not down to the manufacturer as they design a product to a cost which covers most scenarios.Admittedly things do go wrong with products and manufacturers or their suppliers rely on accurate feedback so can address an occurring issue as in my case. This is where having a UK based company such as Mydome came into its own.A product which i had bought developed a fault a couple of days outside Amazons return period. I contacted Mydome directly who provided in my opinion an outstanding customer service. The person to whom i had spoken too was extremely helpful, very clear, articulate and knew his product knowledge. Anything outside his scope i was invited to email the company and my query would be relayed onto the relevant department for addressing.MyDome has an 18 month product guarantee and lifetime product technical support. They satisfactorily resolved my issue but what struck me was their ethos relating to customer service which i fully understand.My ethos is to maintain a mutual customer - client respect. No one is always right but we learn from one another to progress.To conclude, i have no affiliation to this company other than PURCHASING their products through Amazon and just an ordinary person who appreciates good customer service and also who had provided it, where possible, during my working life.

so useful to know if someone is entering my driveway, only negative is it does occasionally pick up a rogue movement otherwise works fine

Despite only paying for a 3-4 day delivery the product came the next day exceeding my expectation. The product was well packaged and instructions clear. The ringer is easy to fix and slender enough to fit the door jamb. I chose the black item to show up against our white paint. The ringers are quite small allowing the 2nd socket of a double electric socket to be used with little trouble. The ring has 4 loudness settings, the loudest being more than adequate to be heard throughout the house. I have kept to the standard ring and have not tried the other ring tones so cannot comment on them. I am very pleased with the product and recommend it.

Bought another one of these when we moved house. Great range both indoors and outdoors, couriers can't sneak up without you knowing about it now ! Batteries last for years and completely wireless so can be put anywhere. Fully weather proof too. Excellent product.
