Excellent reel. Don't let the small size fool you. I have landed 40lb Striped Bass with it.

The reel seems to be well made, but I had never seen one before and it turned out to be too small and I sent it back.The thing that fooled me was that the line capacity is that of a larger reel, but this reel is small compared to say the Penn Squall which in itself is a small reel. Also, if you have been used to a good performing star drag reel, I don't think you'll have any particular desire to use a lever drag

avet sxmc the quality is out standing. i should have purchased the mc.do you have the model with level wind? this would be the perfect surf caster. avet sx mc w level wind perfect.
