Such perfect pieces, BUT.....
If your looking to do powder protein shakes, you must use the PITCHER, not the individual cup. 😞

Plenty of power.
Braun Puremix with product statement it has a smaller footprint, is larger than I expected (16 1/4" T - 6 1/2" W - 8" D)>>> It takes up nearly as much space as our Vita Mix = only 1/2" shorter - 1" more narrow - 1" less depth - photoBut it does a good job crushing ice cubes and frozen fruit - quickly make smoothies, and includes a convenient go cup with it's own blade.>>> Both blades are 'at a glance' identified (not interchangeable) by black for pitcher / gray = go cup, which BTW is totally leak proof. (no hot or carbonated drinks made in go cup)>>> A family test if a product has plenty of power > if it'll make 'Goo' - it'll make anything.> Goo = a healthy concoction my Dad used to make frequently & we still do - photo(Cup milk (or so) - 2 bananas - handful figs / dates / raisins / prunes.- photoAnd if the taste is too rich or strong - couple tablespoons coconut milk.>>> Although this Braun isn't really suited for such a thick mixture, it did a good job.Power assist was helpful = blender automatically senses contents and maintains optimal speed.>>> CONS - and reasons for 4 stars> Buttons - which must be press firmly in precise area. = This gets old pretty quick.> Pitcher must sit exactly with the handle to the right OR exactly left = the buttonson pitcher locking ring must touch the button connectors on the base - photo> WATCH OUT sticking hand / towel inside pitcher to dry = the curve of the tall bladeis exactly at fingernail cuticle, and will rip it open. (Yes I did)> Pitcher lid is, press on / pull off = this design makes lid very stiff to remove - photo>>> Capacity - Pitcher 7 cups - 56 oz>>> Go cup - 1 1/2 cups - 12 oz>>> 1 1/2 oz measuring cup in pitcher lid> measurements on side of both pitcher and go cup>>> Auto shut off in 5 min if not used>>> Cord storage under base>>> All parts are dishwasher safe.German design - made in china>>> Free parts & labor on entire unit for two years.----------------------------->>> For comparison - (125 watt = 1 amp)> Braun - 670 watt = 5.36 amp> Vita Mix - 1437 watt = 11.5 amp)> Ninja Professional NJ601 - 900 watt = 7.2 amp(17" high - 6" wide - 8" deep)

This Blender Will Last You for Years and Years
I worked with this Braun JB7001 blender for about a month of almost daily use before sitting down to review it; after all every blender I’ve ever used have more or less the same features and functions pretty much the same way so I initially didn’t have much to say about this particular one. It’s only after this rather heavy extended usage that I came to appreciate the better quality of this one. Like any other blender, this Braun will pulse, crush, liquify et. al., but I noticed that the motor on this one is much more powerful than most, comparable to my experience with far more expensive models and promises years of life. The blades are constructed of a far better grade of metal alloy than most in this price range, likewise suggesting a very long life for the product. It executes its various functions with greater speed, with the chopping function that I use most producing fruits and veggies that are converted to firmer, more evenly sliced pieces that I get from other products that can easily reduce your produce to pulp because their poorer construction demands repeated tries. I got consistent results with this Braun on all its functions. The design of it far superior to any blender within this price-range I’ve come across and give it a look and feel that I’ve only seen on much more expensive products, often in the hundreds of dollars. The flat-surface control panel on it gives this blender an elegant look and makes it much easier to clean up – no protruding buttons to clean in-between of if you pill something on it. And the LED back-light on its buttons is an attractive feature, as is the measuring spoon that comes integrated into the lid of the blender. It’s quite an elegant looking little device as far as blenders go. I haven’t yet made much use of the smoothie cup that accompanies this blender – this is apparently designed for single serving blends and I generally make larger quantities – but this cup comes with its own blade that also fits the main canister of the device, effectively giving you a set of two blades for it even though they are separately identified by color (grey for the cup, black for the main canister) and symbols at the base of each. One caution, however; these blades are quite sharp so handle them with a bit of care. And expect many years of reliable use from this Braun.

Strong, Basic
I've tried many different brands over the years and currently regularly use a Ninja that can also blend either a full pitcher or a to-go cup. There are benefits to this Braun - specifically the cup, that doesn't leak, verses the Ninja, that makes no attempt to seal - and the power is excellent. If I didn't already love the Ninja, I would seriously consider this one for two reasons: 1) it does almost exactly what the Ninja does, and 2) it's like half the price.

No real flaws, but it doesn't really stand out either
While this is no Vitamix or Ninja, it's a powerful blender. The overall experience is a bit mixed beyond this power, as it's power comes with a bit crude buttons that are finicky and difficult to use just right. Then again those buttons are sturdy, and the design is simple.Where the rubber hits the road (and quite literally the road if using the to-go cup), it delivers. I've made a variety of smoothies, juice drinks, etc... I struggle to see however, how it differs from a number of blenders I've used before or any number of peers out there. That along with the fact that I don't exactly "love" it nor do I feel it's especially worthy of recommendation is why I only see it as 4 stars. No real flaws, but it doesn't really stand out either.
