If you enjoy Indian food, and if you like lentils, you'll enjoy this. The flavor is good, and it's not overly spicy. Ready in just 2 minutes in the microwave, this product is somewhat soupy. I'm going to try serving it with Jasmine rice or Basmati rice next time to "thicken" it a bit. Serving it with rice will also make it a more filling meal. The entire Dal Tadka packet is only 220 calories. Even though the packet is supposed to serve 2, if you use it as a main dish (rather than as a side dish) I think it's an appropriate serving size for one person.

I was very happy with this ready made heat and server Indian dish. The spice was not overpowering but still satisfying if you like your food spicy. I am still partial to the Cumin Club Dal Fry (a similar recipe) but this is a good fall back when my Cumin Club order is running low.

These Ashoka Ready to Eat Indian Meals are exactly as described. I ordered the Dal Tadka flavor and it does taste good for me. I'm not from India so I cannot speak for it's authenticity but I think it's a good discovery set if you want try some Indian food. Price is pretty reasonable too.

This was MUCH hotter than I expected. So was the other Dal I purchased. Was highly disappointed.

I like the flavor of this heat and serve Dal Tadka! My husband and I cooked rice and served the Dal Tadka over rice and it was tasty. It is lentil based, all vegetarian with red peppers- but surprisingly not spicy. It has an earthy hearty flavor. Comes in 5 10 ounce servings.

It has been challenging to find great, flavorful ready-to-eat meals that are gluten free. I came across these and because I love Indian cuisine, I had to give them a try. They are incredibly simple to make for those times when I need to make something quickly after work but am too exhausted to cook. I keep these on hand for those busy nights because they are made with clean, healthful ingredients.

On a spice scale of 1-10 I would give this a 3. Not super spicy at all, but the spice is still there. This comes with 5 10 ounce pouches. I personally microwaved them and they came out just as good as on the stove top. These are great for any to make meals, I like pairing this with rice. The spices and chickpea flavors taste amazing, my family loves these meals! Great for lunches and dinners

sympathiquement bon ! pas trop puissant sur les épices. assez liquide mais c'est un dhal! rien à dire c'est bon mais comme ce n'est pas mon plat préféré je ne rachèterais pas. l'intérêt de ces sachets et de pouvoir les diluer avec d'autres légumes et d'avoir un plat plus important bien épicé! je pense que dans un mouliné de légumes cela serait top pour avoir une soupe exotique !

There's nothing wrong per se with the product. It's a soupy version, unlike the very thick lentil purees many restaurants and takeaways serve. No problem, we have naan. My issue with it is the heat level. I'm a mild to medium person, other diner is medium to hot. Even after I'd removed the whole red chili from mine, the chopped chillies in the sauce made it way out of my comfort zone. Picked out some of the lentils which were soft and tasty, but the gravy..... On turning to my side, I was greeted with someone who had a running nose, coughing and only managed around half themselves before admitting defeat! If you like your tadka dahl HOT, this is definitely for you!
