Amazing for kids
My Husband put it together with no problems. I did help with a plank or two. The Cedar smelled amazing and it was easy to assemble. It is big in size and you Just hook the pieces together. The black tarp just lays on the bottom and you slide it under the wood. The tarp doesn’t really connect to anything which sucks, but I see people have stapled the tarp to their wood pieces. For us the sand only leaks out a bit in one area. The rest of the sides are good to go. It seems sturdy. I have 3 boys so they are all over the place, standing on the wood and everything in between. Our boys love it... from our 3 yr old, 5 yr old to our 10 yr old. I put the cover on no problem. It’s not the most durable cover, but it does the job and so far no complaints. Might invest in a better one... but we will see???? We used 600 lbs of sand from Lowe’s which was just $52. The sand box can take a lot more sand than 600lbs. We will be buying more sand. Just a note If you buy sand don’t get cheated out your money. The places selling sand between $400-$900 on Amazon and other sites...that is crazy and people are actually paying for it. Go to Lowe’s or Home Depot....just $52 for $600 lbs. I would highly recommend this product. It’s definitely worth the money. Kids love the sand. My boys are always digging up the dirt in my yard....this was an easy fix to that problem.

Great sandbox. It's huge and easy to put together.
Pros: - Really nice cedar planks, it smells and looks really nice. Not sure how effective it is but I know cedar repels certain pests so that could be a plus as well - Easy to put together (using two people makes it a breeze, but it's doable with one) - Huge play area with planks to sit on top of sides - Comes with its own soft cover and bottom (however they are not super effective, see below) - We fit 900 lbs of sand in it, could easily fit more Cons: - Delivered with three broken planks. We were easily able to use wood glue on them to mend and they are solid. The company offered to replace them as well, still waiting for delivery on that - The black, water permeable, sheet for the bottom isn't connected to the sand box. We read reviews that indicted there were some issues with sand leaking out. Before we placed and filled it, we turned it over and used a staple gun to attach it to the bottom of the planks. Would highly recommend doing that but it still leaks a little regardless - It comes with a vinyl cover which stretches to cover. It's the very devil to put on and takes two people to get it done efficiently. It also comes off when it's windy. We are going to attach some 3m hooks to the cover and the outside of the sandbox to hopefully take care of that issue. Overall a really great purchase. The hardest part was lugging all the sand from the truck to the backyard. Company was very responsive to issues via email. Going to keep the review at 5 stars unless they don't come through on the replacement planks. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic sandbox, cover insufficient
The sandbox itself is great. Easy to build, sturdy, seems like it will last a long time. Stapling the bottom on worked great. Used 1000 lbs of sand, could hold more but that is plenty. The cover is the issue. Rain or snow pools in the center and will quickly start to tear it at the edges. We tried a large bucket underneath to hold the center up— still pooled around the edges. Tried a large plastic kiddie pool underneath. Still pooled water and collapsed the pool underneath. Plus all the water goes into the box when you try to take the water filled cover off. We ended up making a cover by framing a thick tarp with 2x2 boards with supports across the center. This seems like it will work to keep out the snow/ rain/ animals/ leaves but to be determined by the test of time. To me it’s still definitely a good buy but be aware if a cover is important to you, you may need to DIY something.

I easily assembled it myself, but had to wait a few days for replacement pieces.
Per my five-year-old grandson on a scale of 1 to 5 this sandbox is a five. I would have deducted a star for the damaged wood but Customer Service shipped me out replacement pieces the same day I called. My 3 replacement pieces arrived in 2 days. Before assembly be sure to inspect all your pieces for damage. Once you assemble, staple the liner to the bottom so it doesn’t slide away. It seemed easy to assemble to me as I had read all the other reviews ahead of time. Tools I needed to assemble: Cordless drill with Phillips bit (or screwdriver) and staple gun Wheelbarrow to haul all the sand that Lowe’s loaded on my truck😊 I filled ours with 1000 lbs of play sand and plan to add more. The more sand, the less the cover will sag and collect water when it rains. Speaking of the cover, it feels thin and cheap. I expect it to tear, but we have had several hard rain and wind storms and it hasn’t blown off or leaked. I am pleasantly surprised. I added 2 pictures showing it filled with rain. The seams on corners stretch but have not torn. I plan to order a few extra covers from the mfg. for the future. In FL I expect the sun to wear it out within 6 months. I put 2 plastic containers in the middle filled with sand toys to elevate center. I didn’t want to elevate too much and tear cover. Still trying to find best way to spread sand underneath for minimal water retention. Over Christmas, I had 5 children with new Tonka trucks digging away. We have also had many monster jam performances . Snow (Sand) Angels. Plenty of room!!! Even the older kids love it and there is a lot of room to be creative. *5 month update - cover still hasn’t blown off, leaked or torn.

Love it! Perfect for my 6 year old.
Easy to put together. Arrived quickly. My 6 year old loves it! It takes more sand to fill it than what it says in description but that's if you want it full vs a quarter of the way full. We put over 1000 lbs of sand in it but we wanted it full bc my son loves to take a hoe and dig into the sand so this way prevents him from constantly hitting the black barrier on the bottom. We also stapled the black barrier on the bottom to keep sand from leaking out. The only con I have is the cover. When it rains water pools up and pulls the cover off the sides. Even with adding a pool ball and a bucket underneath the cover it still happens. Maybe if you don't get a lot of rain this won't be an issue but overall I still recommend. I just run out and dip the water out and pull the cover back on the corners. I keep heavy rocks on the corners of the cover too to try to stop it from pulling off but with a-lot of rain it still pulls loose. Anyhow I'll stop rambling but 10/10 it's plenty big enough for my 6 year old, my 13 year old, and there's still half a sand box where other kids could get in and play as well.

Good construction. Warps Spacetime. Possibly Sentient.
The box arrive looking as if it had been fired out of a cannon, but the wood pieces inside were fine, and smelled fantastic. It took a while to spray paint (optional, but nice looking) because the wood absorbs it like paper towel, but once that was done, assembly was a breeze. That brings me to my only problem with this box. This thing holds a lot of sand... Once it's ready and you start filling it with sand, you begin to question your judgement, everything you know about physics, three dimensional space, and your grasp on reality itself, as you add bag after bag after bag of sand to the center, knowing that it should be filling up, but it never seems to. My daughter watched eagerly, ready to jump in and start playing with her cars and new sand toys, as I dumped what seemed like 10,000 lbs of sand into her new sandbox, only to wonder why there was so little sand to play in. "How come it's so empty", she asked me, sounding a little bewildered. Exhausted and half crazed from exertion and heat I answered, "I don't know, honey. Maybe it's a black hole." "Or maybe it's magic", she replied, sounding ominous. I stopped and stared at her while yet another bag of sand slowly emptied into the void. A chill washed over me, even in the burning sun of mid-day. I looked at my daughter, and then at the impossibly empty sand box. It seemed to be staring at me, waiting for me to fill it with more sand. To feed it... I grabbed my little girl and ran as fast as my terror-numbed legs would carry me. The door to my house seemed miles away, and was not getting any closer, even though I was sprinting harder and faster than I ever had in my life. There was no sound but the pounding of my feet and my ragged breathing, but I swear I heard a voice in my head, screaming in rage. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, we reached the door. I practically threw my daughter inside before slamming the door behind us. I slid to the floor, panting and pouring sweat. My daughter, not really understanding what happened, but feeling the heavy, malevolent shadow that we had unknowingly been engulfed in for hours drifting away asked, "Are we safe now?" "Yes baby," I replied, still breathing raggedly. "We're safe. For now."

800-1000 pounds of sand.
Very easy assembly. Like Lincoln logs with screws. You’ll need electric screw driver(easier), scissor and or razor blade. And I would suggest 120 grit sandpaper and wood filler for the screws on top. I used 15, 50 pound bags of sand. I’ll buy 5 more bags. It takes 800 to 1000 pounds of sand. Took about an hour to put it all together. Grandkids come next weekend to see the surprise. Cedar smells good, wood was I damaged screws made it nice and snug. Put a beach ball in the middle. Putting cover on is like a fitted sheet, it kept coming off when I got to the last edge lol. But third times a charm. I’m getting an extra cover that’s thicker and to provide extra protection. We get cats birds squirrels and skunks. Also have an oak tree that continuously drops leaves branches and nuts. Also bought a sand broom. I’m very happy with the everything about it. Becarefuk of splinters from top screws.

kids loved sandpit. easy to move around garden
great for small garden and enough for 3kids playing together. only 2 medium buckets of sand needed. the only minus is sandpit cover that shrinks when on direct sun during peak sun hours, so it does not fit the frame anymore.
