This kit is filled with everything I need for mending. I like it that all of the tools I use for hand sewing are housed in one zippered pouch. I have been wanting something that I could keep handy without disturbing my sewing room every time I have a small mending task. It is very well organized and will be handy for travel as well. The thread selection has great colors. I almost did not purchase it because I thought it had too many bright colors - however my kit came with a few darker colors that I needed. I love it!Update....now that I have actually used the kit, I discovered a couple of things. There is a nice outside pocket. Nice addition. Also, caution when using needle holder. The top does not lift off. Instead the top turns and you then tip out the needle you want. Several needles can be dispensed at once. I don't care for this feature. I had that happen by just gently tipping it gently. Three needles flew out and I then had to chase them down. I also used the scissors to make a little snip at the top of the thread roll I used to keep the thread at bay after I used it. It was easy to do.

My son used this in Ghana on his mission experience. He cut off his long missionary sleeves, used the measuring tape, and made short sleeves in the humidity of West Africa. It worked great. I'm a professional seamstress, and I was so excited when I saw this. I've been wanting to put together a kit myself-- but alas-- 5 kids and it's just something I haven't gotten around to.I wish the thimbles had a better hold-- they slip out.I like what I got for the price. I bought two-- one for me and my daughters to make doll clothes during our yearly pioneer reenactments.I only wish there were a large outside pocket to hold my own spool of favorite upholstery thread or other odds n' ends.While this isn't an expensive, name brand thread/sewing kit-- I'm still very happy for the price. In fact, eventually, I plan to get one more-- just because it's so cool! :)

This kit is perfectly adequate but I would trade extraneous items for higher quality on the remaining subset. As a safety precaution, during shipping, 1/4 of the pins with colorful heads came loose from the wheel; don't have a child open this for you as I didn't notice one sticking out by 1/2" until I had removed the plastic and almost stuck myself. The case has a nice feel to it and the elastic is fine. It will push the thread off the spools if you're not careful, though. Speaking of thread, some have the ends conveniently located but the black didn't and it took me a good 10 minutes to find it with multiple unwinding (made more difficult because some of the threads in the middle had broken so there were a lot of dead ends on the ones sticking out. This could be fixed by using those plastic spools that have a notch in the end. The pincushion is adorable but smaller than it appears in the pictures. The scissors are pretty bad; they're sharp but terribly hard to close. With some WD-40, they're operable but I've seen much better scissors in comparable kits before. The threaders (to pull the thread through the needle) are nice plastic with metal that is a bit narrow, imo, but they work well enough; I think it would have been fine to use the thin aluminum ones, though.I really don't understand the purpose of a nail clipper in the kit, there are more than enough pins to fasten, and you don't need two thimbles (which, btw, will not stay well in the elastic because of the angle). Their cost should be reapplied to making better scissors and thread/spools. That would bump up the quality to 5 stars for me.

The amount you get in this kit alone is worth the price easily, not to mention everything within seems to be pretty good quality to me. My only qualm would be how the thread is wrapped on the cardboard spools. Both ends of the thread are under a good amount of layers of the thread which ended us causing me to have to remove all of the thread from the spool to use it. However, as I am either a seasoned beginner or barely intermediate sewer, this could have been user error on my part. Regardless, this kit is great for the price, definitely worth the money for everything you get.

Fancy lot of Accessories but quality sucks.Short observation.;: The thread kept breaking & The ball of a needle came off. (Without usage)

This is a dandy little sewing kit with a nice tote case. Good for home and travel. Great thread colors and variety needle sizes. Easier that getting out the who sewing basket for a quick repair.

Terrible.. expected to receive a sewing kit but instead received a tin filled with little plastic clips. The plastic the item cane in said that it was the mumcraft sewing kit. Disappointed to say the least

Bought two of these as gifts for my college age granddaughters. They have a lot of useful tools packed into a compact case. They should be very useful for anyone who needs to do a quick fix or repair.
