The sealer worked straight out of the box, without issue. My problem is that it was not clear at all that you had to change out the sealing wire to get it to seal and cut. Once I figured that out, by looking at other listings, I was able to figure out I need to put the round wire in there. Replacing the sealing wire is a pain, but doable. If you aren’t dexterous, good luck. But they are all like this. TIP; be very gentle with the screws holding the wire in. They seem to be floating or something and are very fragile feeling. Overall, the product works great, seals quickly, and does exactly what I need. Tip: start at like heat 3 and see if that works. Make sure to wait at least that full second after the light goes off. It’s important. Not sure why none of the questions are answered correctly indicating it can seal and cut. The instructions might as well have been in Latin, because they made no sense and provided no real use. Just watch the video they have. Pretty simple to use. While some people say they received a unit that needed additional repair to work, mine worked straight out the box. I’d recommend this unit. Hope it lasts 18 months. PS, I gave it 3*’s on easy to use for the reason of being challenging to change the sealing wire.

I am replacing my old impulse sealer that I bought in 2004. It looks exactly the same, same color, knob, fuse, everything. The last one worked for 20 years never trouble at all. but after 20 years the transformer went, and it was cheaper to buy a new unit than fix the old one :) It's a very dependable unit, I never had any trouble sealing practically any plastic or mylar material out there.

Works fast and amazing! Literally no set up! You just plug it in and go! Easy and clear instructions too! Made of metal and feels very well built and sturdy. Can not say enough! 10/10

I just received this and it didn't work. Here is what I did: STEP 1 - UNPLUG IT, please don't die STEP 2 - Check the size of the unit, there is a black plug. Unscrew it, make sure the fuse isn't blown. If it is replace it and retest. If its good, go to step 3. STEP 3 - Unscrew the bottom. There are four screws located in the feet. STEP 4 - Look at left side, there is a black switch contact (I circled it in red in my picture). Physically push that switch and listen. You'll hear a very loud audible click you probably were not hearing before. This is the "on switch" When you lower the bar, you'll see the brass colored metal is supposed to push it in. On my unit, this wasn't contacting hard enough. STEP 5 - with a pair of pilars and while holding the arm. slightly bend the metal finger to the left (refer to my other picture) STEP 6 - WITH THE DEVICE STILL UNPLUGGED, and the bottom off, set the unit upright and lower the handle listening for that click. If it clicks, you're in business. STEP 7 - Screw the bottom plate back, plug it in and test it on a bag. PRO tip, start at the lowest setting and slowly work your way up on the bags until you find the 'doneness' you prefer.

This sealer is awesome. Really simple and easy to use. Extremely fast sealing. I did about 150lbs of wheat and rice immediately after opening and it works flawlessly. It's also really safe, you can touch it seconds after sealing and its barely warm. I haven't used it on anything buy mylar bags, but it is really forgiving as far as which setting you have it on. I was sealing 4 mil mylar bags and tried it on 3, 5 and maxed out and all the seals were pretty much the same. Fantastic sealer. Would recommend to anyone.

Review is for Metronic 16inch heat sealer, sold by Jiaro International: Ordered one of these to seal vacuum sealer type bags. We are a small non-profit, with very, very low volume, so we only seal a few bags at a time. First sealer came and didn't work at all, right out of the box. Checked everything I could, and no power, no heat and now indicator light. It was immediately returned. Got a replacement after several days. It actually worked... but ONLY FOR TEN BAGS. It's not like we process 100s of bags at a time. I tested it with 2 bags, when we got it, and it worked that day. Then I used to do a "second seal" on 2 bags, and it worked that day. Today I was making bags from a roll, where you cut the length you want and seal the bottom, prior to filling. Five seals went okay, then the sixth bag, literally NOTHING happened. No power, no "tick" sound when the heat had been applied, no indicator light. Keep in mind, these bags were being sealed MINUTES apart, so it wasn't like I was overheating it by sealing bags one right after another. This piece of junk is going BACK to Amazon and the search is on for a RELIABLE manufacturer and SELLER.

Purchased May 2018. It's Oct 2024, guess it's time to review. No problems ever, decided to change out element after tens of thousands of sealing adventures, nothing wrong with it, just figured I'd do some clean up, since the elements are cheap atm and going on 7yrs it's time to tune up. never popped a fuse. no worries there.

Mine gets heavy duty use. I replace every 3 to 5 yrs just for safety. It gets used all the time for our high volume business and when we get cranking there is lots of spring back. Considering the abuse it gets it's a sturdy and reliable product.

At first I found it difficult to use for my needs. Once I got used to it, making my bag sizes perfect to fit, it is so easy. I now can't imagine using anything else. Really good quality.
