Vinyl Box set
This pertains to the vinyl box set.The albums of course speak for themselves. Every one of them a classic. I doubt anyone buys this as a first foray into all things 'Frosty' so I'll explain why it's only four stars. Basically, Emperor's Return and Morbid Tales are on black vinyl. Nothing like the picture unless you hold them up to the light, only then can you see any colour. But to look at them normally they're just black. The others more closely resemble the pictures so no problem there. The box itself is 4 inches deep so it's pretty hefty. The contents are nicely laid out inside with the exception of the 7 inch single which moves around freely. Had I seen the vinyl in the flesh so to speak, before buying I probably wouldn't have bothered as I already have the 2x LP reissues from a couple of years ago which used a better quality card for the sleeves although it's still a nice piece to have.It would of course been perfect with Cold Lake included. I could forgive them for the misleading photo if that was the case, but as we all know grumpy old Tom is having none of that!Yes, I recommend it (just!) but be ready for the disappointment when you see Morbid Tales and Emperor's Return.Update! Check your copy of the I won't Dance 12". Mine was a terrible press that jumped all over the place.

Complete classic Frost in a beautiful package
LP box set review; Not much to dislike here if you're a Frost fan. The LPs are all flat, noiseless, admittedly not 180g but then I'm sure anyone reading this already owns those 2017 2LP reissues...Unlike the previous reviewer, I prefer the less vivid Morbid Tales & Emperor's Return vinyl, dark with just shades of red and green, they look better than the pictured ones. I forgot how warm the Emperor's Return EP sounds on vinyl. Flawless packaging albeit hefty and will require quite a bit of room (I actually prefer the albums on out of the box on the shelf for easy access). The album/EP sleeves are quite thin and non-glossy, but the images are sharp and faithfully reproduced, all come with inserts aside from The Collector's CF EP. I owned these as originals back in the 80s and it's nice to have them again. Memory stick contains the 160 MP3 bit rate (?!) - which is frankly baffling. Recommended equally for Frost diehards and newbies.

Nice Quality...
...but for the price it should be I suppose. Classy box, well laid out inside and the vinyl and covers themselves look pretty good. Comparing them to my originals, I'd say they fall slightly short on the sleeve front. The vinyl sounds good though and the music itself, as I'm sure anyone contemplating buying this already knows, is awesome. As another reviewer mentions, a couple of the coloured vinyls are no such thing unless held up to a light source - they look just plain black on a turntable, and nothing like the promotional pictures. Worth the money? Yes, I'd say so (it's Celtic Frost!), but it's nowhere near the five star standard of the similar priced Mansun box set, which is always my go to comparison for these things, so four stars it is.

Fantastic Frost
Excellent box set, good to get all the early ep on vinyl finally, fantastic book with a history of the band and their early struggles, sounds fantastic and the coloured vinyl is cool, overall if you are a frost fan you shouldn't be without this box set, go and get it

Best Box Set Ever
Fantastic tribute to one of the greatest bands ever - Celtic Frost were the first extreme metal band ( coined Avant Garde Thrash by Xavier Russell) - they had their own sound which very few bands copied - their three classic albums arw included here as well as 12 inch singles and the very collectable Emporers return plus other items like a patch and a badge and USB - I have loads od box sets by metal bands and would put this one up there with the Venom and Kreator box sets - a must for any serious metal fan!!!!
