The good news is, minerals do not expire, but the natural flavoring will diminish over time. General rule of thumb is the 'best if used by' date is 2 years following the manufacturing date. Flip your LMNT box or stick pack over. See the LOT number? The first 5 digits of the LOT code is the Julian date. For example, in LOT number 1122108, the 112 21 indicates the 112th day of 2021 or April 22, 2021. Fun fact: Julian day is primarily used by astronomers!

Is this citric acid from mold or vitamin c?

Thanks for asking! First, it might be helpful to clarify that citric acid and vitamin C are not the same thing. Vitamin C is is Ascorbic acid. They are quite similar in their scientific composition, but of course their physical similarity doesn't necessarily equate to flavor similarities.
