20-Pack JACKYLED Screw Type T8 Lamp Holder with Wires UL Non-shunted Tombstone Light Socket for LED Fluorescent Tube Replacements

I did a 4' fluorescent to LED conversion and I needed to change to tombstone receptacles from shunted to un-shunted. These worked perfectly and were super easy to install. Very fairly priced too.

I needed this type of light socket (tombstone) to replace shunted sockets as I update fluorescents with LED tubes. These are older fluorescents that have shorter sockets. My supply of non-shunted sockets are longer (higher?) and are difficult to install in the older fixtures. They work just fine. My only issue is that the plastic insert may rotate and not allow the tube to be inserted without repositioning the insert vertically. Not a big deal. 5 stars...

Worked as advertised with specific fixtures. Liked the prepared ends of the solid copper wires. Using solid copper wiring makes for easier installation using push-in connectors or the Wago brand lever connectors. The only downside I can see is the lack of a pre-drilled hole between the pin connectors for a different older style stand alone fixture setup that requires a screw to hold the tombstone to the plate at the end. That might be a small manufacturing change that would make the product more versatile.

First, these are working fine in LED T-8, ballast-free retrofit of 4' fluorescent tubes. I used HyperBY-4c-50G tubes from Home Depot and am very happy with the light- 5000K, 18W, 220° width, so the lab lighting is cleaner and more focused. To these tombstones- the fixtures are 18 year old Lithonia 3 bulb, 4' boxes, and the receptacle to accept the lamp holders were shorter than the JACKYLED's, so I took a grinder to open them up and bent down the tab and they fit in nice and snug. The pigtails were too short to reach the line/load wires, so I took some 18 ga wire from the holders coming out to wire nut in. Took a little trial and error trying to figure out whether to hack the plastic lamp holder or the metal fixture, but the metal ground out very easily.

These JACKYLED 20-pack UL Non-shunted Light Socket For LED sockets were priced well, but that is where it ends. They feel cheap and were smaller than what I replaced. I was able to get them installed by bending the fixture metal and they are working. I just wonder how they will hold up. I felt like it was worth going ahead and using them since with LED's the tube changes would be minimal. If I were to do it again, I would opt for a different brand.

I used these tombstones to add additional LED lights to a poster display. These included wiring so I only needed to tie in to my existing wires.

Worked good. Easy to install.

Although dimensionally correct, these don't fit my 4' Lithonia wrap around lights. There are a variety of extra reinforcements and guides on these that prevent proper mounting. If you're converting lamps larger than 2' skip buying the pre-wired version, they will not be long enough to reach unless you have copious amounts of extra loomex in your lamps.
