They are not what I expected. For starters they’re black and they are much thicker than any emery board I have ever seen. But the acid test is ‘do they work?’ The answer is a resounding’yes!’. The extra thickness means they don’t bend as much as ordinary boards when you are using them to smooth down a rough nail and the advantage of that is that you get a more concentrated action. Would I buy these again? Definitely!

These nails are great for reshaping the nails, leaves mine looking nice

These nail files, for better or worse, are super coarse. The files feel like they're covered in sand paper, or rather paper covered in sand as they're bumpy and therefore they're not kind to your nails as you file back and forth. I have rather brittle nails and I've broken a couple by simply trying to smooth the edges.BUT.. They do last long, whether or not it's because I don't dare to use them much I can not say. There's many-a-file in the package, so you're set for a while. I've simply been wondering if these are more meant for toe nails rather than fingernails. Or if they're meant to file off hard bits off your feet.
