simple and well made
I love the fact that this little lamp base comes with a dimmer switch. You can set the dimness to what you want and still have the on-off switch work without having to adjust the dimmer.

Very steampunk/industrial look.
I bought two of these and love them. The dimmer works great. Very heavy and sturdy. Bulb not included, but I had a mercury glass Edison bulb on hand and it looks awesome!Highly recommended.

Well crafted night light. Recommended but one caution.
Many of us are fond of this "industrial style". This product is a very well crafted and inexpensive nightlight that can use dimmable Edison bulbs. It is superior to others of its type by: 1) an on/off switch and 2) a dimmer control. The lamp fits easily on a shelf and constructed out of a real pipe. The product arrived and was switched on with no problems. Made in China, but well made. Shipped quickly and received quickly. It does not come with a bulb which needs to be purchased separately. Make sure to purchase a dimmable bulb. One caution: the lamp is exposed and the bulb can get quite hot. This is not for a house with children who might be attracted to the flicker of Edison bulb.

very sturdy
This was the perfect solution for me. I had found an antique industrial lamp in an old barn. The chord did not work, as it was at least 100 years old. I was able to mount the shield onto this awesome base and presto! I now have a modern functional lamp for my room.

Nope.
I ordered two of these. Two out of two arrived sealed in package, visibly fine, and NEITHER worked. Tried different lightbulbs and different outlets to be certain. Shipping 2/2 that are non-functioning? Skip it and buy something else! I ordered two of another slightly different style before the return of these was even shipped back, and both worked perfectly on arrival. (Interestingly, both good reviews are made-up “handles”, and the 1-Star reviews are our ACTUAL NAMES...)
