Worth the money!
So worth the money! I had previously purchased a similar dual cleaning robot from another brand (same price point) and I was extremely disappointed. I thought, maybe I just had too high of expectations for a robot vacuum in the $400 price range. I decided to return the previous vac and give this one a Hail Mary last chance. I’ve had it for a week and could not be happier.-The AI in this compact robot vacuum is wonderful, it senses every obstacle (small, large, dog bowl, cords etc). Hardly bumps into anything! It mapped out my home in about 15 minutes and was highly accurate.-quiet for a vac-can choose the vac suction level and amount of water flow for mopping or you can do automatic to adjust to the level of soiling/floor type-app is great and very user friendly. I like that it shows me the exact path of where the vac went. I also like that I can pick which room/rooms I want cleaned at a certain time instead of having to select the whole house every time.-does a great job at vacuuming. I enjoy coming home and seeing the perfectly straight “lines” in the carpet-my only complaint is that the dust bin isn’t bagless. This is a super minor inconvenience.

Outstanding Performance great value
We started with the Bissell cleaner and were less than impressed with the navigational ability. The cleaning was good, but the unit couldn’t map and find its way back to the dock, hung up on obstacles, etc. The charging/battery issues caused us to return it. A second order was “lost’. After much consideration we purchased this unit and are we happy! This Roborock maps the home and can be sent out to clean different zones. It returns to docking flawlessly and self-empties the storage. To date, no hangups or issues and we continue to be impressed! We’ll worth the investment… let’s hope it’s also durable.

Outstanding vacuum and customer service, highly recommend!
UPDATED:Since submitting this review, Roborock has gone up above and beyond. I completely stand corrected on their customer service and will remain brand loyal. They replaced my unit, provided a $50 credit for any inconvenience, and tracked the shipment of my new unit until it was delivered to my home. Also, the whole Q8 system is working perfectly now, including the self-emptying feature. It’s a must-have for households with animals. The set up is quick and easy and the vacuum performs incredibly. Amazing suction… my house feels so much cleaner with my Q8. Thank you so much, Roborock!Original Review:I bought this Roborock in November 2024. The self-emptying feature has worked a total of three times. I followed all the instructions Roborock sent to remediate however, the issue still persists. Roborock wants me to mail the unit back for repair, which could take roughly a week for repair alone. Super inconvenient considering the size of house, the amount of people and dogs that live in it, and that I use this machine multiple times a day. I asked for an exchange, and they weren’t open to that idea. My suggestion would be to buy a less expensive Roborock without the self-emptying feature. Other than this key issue, the vacuum itself works quite well. I scored a 3-star for two reasons: 1. Customer service response didn’t meet my expectations or solve the problem (yet) without serious inconvenience. 2. The major reason I bought this vacuum was because I have a large house with dogs. Self-emptying was a big feature I needed. Well, this unit does not actually self-empty as advertised.I’ll add, this is my third Roborock. Because of my recommendation, my mom and sister also own a Roborock. I’m a huge stickler for customer experience. If you’re building a good product, it’s not that often that customer service is needed. That said, I expected more from Roborock with a unit this new (just exchange it, refurb the other, and resell it). I’m brand loyal, but this experience will make me look at other robot vacuum brands the next time I’m in the market for one. For now, I’m going to use this one as-is without the self-emptying feature I paid a premium for.

Dustimus Prime - Good vacuum, problematic software
So far this little guy has performed well.He is good at picking up the cat litter that our 3 cats spread with abandon. If all he did was the front entryway every day - he would be worth it.He did get a cat toy jammed in his rollers so despite performing his round, no dust was sucked.Surgery fixed that.Between 3 cats, carpets, and a large floor, it is helpful to have him empty after each zone, otherwise he gets too full to empty properly. Some of our carpets are new and still shedding, it might be less of an issue on older carpets. He navigates the different carpet heights, tile, and hardwood with ease.Unsurprisingly, he does not like carpets with fringe.Very low, and can navigate under chairs and many of our side tables and the curio. Bonus, because that is where the dust bunnies accumulate. The mop function is only so-so, but even that helps with the inevitable dribbles that occur with inattentive housemates. The software brings his rating down to 4 stars. My husband says the software is a nightmare and it was difficult to get the rooms programmed. It was hard to delete a script, causing you to run out of scripts and have to start over from scratch. He is very patient and eventually got the setup he wanted, but it was not easy.A very nice feature is you can set up the direction of the run - have him travel with the plank layout of the hardwood floors, and do a consistent path on the carpets that show the pattern on the nap.Overall and good value and time saving tool.
