Quality part but as always you can not rely on Amazon "fit" recommendations on ANY part 100%. Amazon is correct most of the time but take the time to double check EVERY part you order from amazon. Excluding the obvious wiper blades, oil/air filters and such. This coil DOES FIT A 2005 BMW Z4 even though Amazon disagrees. I purchased one of these over a year ago as only one cylinder was misfiring. Worked perfect and the job was completed in a flash. At that time Amazons fitment suggested the part was a fit for my z4. Recently another coil went bad so I went to reorder and... Oh no "this part does not fit your 2005 bmw z4. what? did i install the wrong coil last time? Although the coils Amazon does recommend for your particular car may or may not do the job I contacted several BMW dealerships and oem parts retailers and confirmed that this IS the LATEST GREATEST coil for our 2005 bmw z4. You will find that the original coil has been discontinued and several have taken its place over the years. Double checking part fitment prior to ordering through Amazon has saved me tons of aggravation and due to the fact Amazon is usually the least expensive it has been worth the extra effort to confirm the parts. Hope this saves you a headache from ordering the wrong part. If you dont already know? This is a super easy repair job to install these and will save you hundreds in literally "minutes".

My 07 VW Eos started shuddering when accelerating. It started happening a lot of time to the point I was wondering if I'm going to damage my engine. I looked at some forums and a couple of youtube videos and the most likely cause could be a bad ignition coil. The bluetooth ODB reader + Torque app told me the misfire was on cylinder 1. I swapped the original ignition coils between 1 and 2 and the misfire moved to 2. That confirmed it was the coil that was at fault. I ordered this one from Amazon and replaced just the #1 slot and it's been working very well since then. I kept others so I could replace it if it happened again on a different cylinder. I've attached pics of the new coil and the original coil. My car is at around 68K miles, I bought it used in 2011 and have had it for 13 years. The Bosch 0221604115 OE Ignition Coil worked very well and my car drives really nice. I'm eventually going to replace the other 3 along with the spark plugs later. If you have a VW that's showing a misfire, this is definitely worth a try. It's an easy replacement that most people can do.

I had a P0301 "Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected" code and "Service Engine Soon" light pop up on my 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si recently. The most likely problem for this error code is a bad ignition coil. The cylinder numbering on the inline six-cylinder engine starts with #1 at the front of the engine/car and ends with #6 at the back of the engine. This Bosch 0221504470 ignition coil has the notch in the center of the electric connector, which is what my existing ignition coil has. My understanding is that this coil is for cars manufactured after 04/2006. For good measure, I checked the sticker on my driver's door and confirmed that my car was manufactured in 06/2006. Before 04/2006, the ignition coil apparently has the notch offset from center, which is a different part number than this. replacement is easy, even if you're not mechanically inclined. Simply flip up the lock on top of the ignition coil, pull out the electric connector. Pull the ignition coil up and out. Push the new coil down into the cylinder firmly. Plug in the electrical connector while pushing the lock down (you may or may not hear a click), and you're done. The car stopped misfiring and the "Service Engine Soon" light went off after two days.

Ok let me start by saying I never do reviews on products even if I absolutely love them. With that being said this isn’t just about love lol this is about this product actually solving my car problems. My car was stalling & shaking which when I got a diagnostics test done it read the I had a misfire in cylinder 2 & 4. I purchased 2 of these babies along with 4 new sparks plugs, & had everything replace. When I say my car ride so smooth now not to mention my engine light was on for almost a year, once the work was done the guy reset my engine light & it’s been off since then. It’s been 2 days so finger crossed it stay that way. Worth every penny in my book hope this helps!!

Same Part # as the BMW ones printed right on the Coil Packs! Save yourself $38 + tax off the quoted $68 stealership price and buy these instead. Had the COBB Stage 1+FMIC tune on the car and had to take it off due to misfires & SES light coming on regularly. Did walnut shell blasting, valve cover gasket replacement with RB N54 PCV Valve upgrade installation plus new spark plugs which resolved this, but only for about 5k miles. After experiencing a misfire on cylinder 6 that would not go away after clearing the codes off the ECU and requiring a tow truck ride back to the house I swapped out an old coil pack on cylinder 6 with one I replaced on cylinder 1 due to misfires under WOT when tuned. This got me back in the daily driving game but I now knew that my 2008 335i E93 with 118k miles on it needed all new coil packs. Quote at the stealership was $68 + tax, so buying these at $30/ea saved me approximately $43.34 each. That's better than BOGO. Same item, same part number, identical look and feel, genuine BOSCH coil packs. The only difference is the box they come in (BOSCH vs BMW label) and the fact that nobody spent the time to trim some super-thin plastic from some of the edges of these BOSCH coil packs, like where the plastic was removed from a mold. Very thin, very short stuff I'm talking about so it is nothing of concern, but I suspect BMW makes BOSCH polish these guys to perfection before stamping BMW on them. Car is now tuned back and is flying down the roadways. Took approximately 40 minutes to do the swap on all cylinders with some experience taking off the cabin air filter tray and engine cowl, including farting around gathering tools and setting up a workbench next to the car. It can be done in half that time if you do this kind of thing everyday and your tools are at the ready.

After placing my order through Amazon.com, I received acknowledgement of my order on 11/12, received another notice it was shipped on 11/13, and I received the package on 11/15, although expected delivery was 11/18. I had them installed in 15 minutes. With the 1 piece Bosch ignition coil, you'll never have to worry about leaving part of the coil stuck on a spark plug, which is possible on the 2 piece ignition coil. I felt very comfortable purchasing this type, since it was the same brand and model previously installed on my 2006 BMW 530xi. I had to really twist and pull on the ignition coil at cylinder 4, prior to replacing my spark plugs. It's recommended you replace these when replacing the spark plugs. I tried to get away with not purchasing them, but after testing the coils, I knew it was necessary. They also had the best in stock price. I'll definitely order from them again. Brian, PA
