This cable works !!! Mac Mini MI Hdmi to USB-C Monitor
I needed to send HDMI from My Mac Mini M1 to a LG Ultrafine Monitor that has only USB-C inputs. This special unidirectional HDMI to USB-C powered by a USB-A worked fantastic !!!!! Now I can Hold off upgrading my Mac Mini-M! for a few years and still use two $K monitors

It works!
Edit: the replacement cable arrived and it does not have the screen flicker issue. I also got a female-female usb c adapter that I now connect this cable to and then the original cable to the Air 2. It’s perfect and is cheaper than buying pricey and clunky adapters. I now have this cable to connect to any hdmi device I want, pc, PlayStation etc I bought this specifically to connect any hdmi device to my Xreal Air 2 glasses. It works! Except the video cuts out a few seconds in to using. And stays out for a second or two. I have ordered a replacement to see if that is the issue, if this cable is truly faulty. I have tried to wiggle the cable at the usb-c end to see if it makes the video come back but it’s too inconsistent to say it’s not the cable being faulty. I have also now ordered a usb c female-female coupler to compliment this cable. The cable is good quality build as it appears. However the usb c end is too stiff and at a straight angle that it makes wearing it on the glasses uncomfortable. I will connect this cable to the original cable that came with the glasses. I do want to say I have tested this cable with my steam deck via a hub, my PC and my PS4. The video cut out happens with all devices and almost like clock work. Hopefully I will remember to come back and update this after I receive my replacement.

Send HDMI signal and power the connected AR glasses at the same time. NOT FROM USB-C TO HDMI.
This cable is perfect if you want to send HDMI signal to your AR glasses, and power them at same time. This is HDMI signal and USB-A power to USB-C Dislpay port to for example AR glasses. Does not work th other way. USB-A power should comw form a different source than the HDMI.

HOT - especially for so little power (1-2W)
This cable works as advertised, but I have concerns about how reliable it will be due to how hot the HDMI end of the cable gets during use. It's hot enough that I wouldn't feel comfortable having this tightly packed with other cables or electronics during use. As the description states, the USB-A connection is only for powering the HDMI to USB-C converter chips inside the HDMI end of the cable. It does not power the display device receiving the USB-C cable. Based on my testing it seemed like there may be a little power making it to the display device, but not enough to be significant in anyway. When I connected this device to a charger with a power output measurement LCD on it, it said the cable was drawing about 1W normally with occasional measurements up to 2W. So, I was surprised after about an hour of use that the HDMI connector was very hot to the touch. If you plan on using this with an XREAL Beam, you might consider Fairikabe's other model cable that has both USB-A and a USB-C power connectors. That cable does output a bit more power for the display device. Though I was disappointed it seemed to cap out at 4W on my XREAL Beam which typically pulls 18W from a standard USB-C charging cable. In the attached pictures this cable is identified as "Old Fairikabe USB-A" and you'll see that it draws 1W compared to the newer "Fairikabe USB-C" cable that draws 4W when connected to my XREAL Beam. Ignore the 0W reading on the new Fairikabe picture for the USB-A connection - it's drawing power from USB-C only.

Stay away
Doesn't work. I know it's the cable, because my other HDMI to USB-C cable works for my dual monitors, but this one doesn't. Can't say I'm not surprised. This is the third manufacturer that I've tried that doesn't work as advertised.

Worked great
this worked great on an Asus MB166C portable monitor. When I first plugged it in a message came up that the monitor was out of range. Asus website said you have to install Monitor Drivers first before using. After much confusion I went on forums and found that if computer shows out of range then reboot and it will fix it. That worked and it worked great after that.

Just what I needed to use my AOC Portable 1920x1080p Monitor with any device with HDMI output.
I've been waiting for something like this for a while now. I have a AOC Portable LCD and it's limited to use with a laptop with a powered USB-C output. I could not use it with any device with HDMI to USB-C because that's actually reverse direction and the monitor side has to a HDMI and not the other way around. This cable solves the issue by taking the HDMI output and change it to USB-C data and there's the extra USB connector that plugs into the same device or a power adaptor that sends power to that the AOC Portable LCD can turn on. Only concern I have is the HDMI connector gets very hot, so I may need to attach a small heat sink to dissipate some heat to prolong the device's MTBF.

Works for Vlink
Got this for my Minisforum V3. I thought it didn't work at first, but the PC had to be off and I re-patched the USB power and it turned on as a second monitor. Bonus the touchpad and keyboard worked through this cable to control the other computer. So this seems to work for Vlink USB C In DisplayPort. Need to test with a game console next but expect it to work.
