Scosche MP2TR1-SP MagicMount Pro 2 Tripod/Selfie Stick Phone Mount with Adjustable Arm

I was bummed because this broke. It twists and turns in ways that aren't clearly specified. Its confusing to use. In the process of trying to collapse back into itself I twisted it too far and the thing snapped. :(

This product works well until the phone is mounted. At that time, the ball joint is not robust enough to bear the weight of an iPhone 13promax and tightening it down at the castle nut to make it more secure only shears the plastic. Great design if you don’t want it to actually hold the phone at a prescribed angle other then vertical

I was excited to order this because I have been using Scosche products for YEARS. Unfortunately the selfie stick portion is too short to really call it a selfie stick. But more important for my purposes, was the MagSafe mount... IT IS hideously HUGE. Lastly, the the of the MagSafe magnets is poor. Less-secure hold than even the cheapest MagSafe accessories.

I use this stand to record myself at the gym. Here are my thoughts: -the stand works well like any other stand -the magnet isn't too great -small and compact which is useful

Bought this Magic Mount selfie stick/tripod in Oct 2023. Today is Feb 18, 2024. About 1.5 weeks ago, it broke. The plastic around the rotating ball is not durable. I was so excited about the magnetic mount for my New iPhone 15 when I bought it but SOOOO disappointed that it didn’t hold up longer than 3 mths. 🥴. Do NOT waste your money. I use it to hold my phone to watch a show Mever really used it as a selfie stick. In fact, never even used the battery.

Not a true selfie stick. Short arm. Can’t take a photo while trying to take a selfie. It’s a tiny tripod. Can’t get that good shot without stacking on books. It’s alright. Far over priced for what it is.

The magnet is strong and I felt confident it would hold the phone with case. However the arm doesn’t open very long, not much longer than your arm length really (adds about six inches when holding it out) and there’s no connection so you’d still need someone to push the button. Or have to use a self timer repeatedly (not convenient!) I’ll be returning.

This is one of the worst tripods and/or selfie sticks I have ever bought. But... that's not why I bought it. I bought it because the head attachment is perfect for what I need. I did a Frankenstein and used a small tripod I already had, a ball head from another tripod, and the magnetic head from this product to assemble the adjustable tripod I really wanted. So in the end I was satisfied, but had to buy 3 items in order to assemble them into my finished solution.
