Best low acid coffee
In my opinion this is the best little acid coffee. It has a fantastic taste it sits well on my stomach. I prefer the whole bean to grind myself but I also buy the pre-ground. Either one is fantastic. If anybody has any tummy troubles I would suggest this in a heartbeat.

Truly a low acid coffee & with great taste!
I have been experiencing bladder issues for the past 6 months and although it's nearly resolved by now, the two worst offenders are still chocolate and coffee unfortunately. This coffee amazingly did not irritate my bladder much at all!! (I found I still need to take Prelief with it, but at least I can have coffee sometimes now!) We also happend to discover that when my husband combined it 50/50 with his usual organic Allegro Breakfast Blend he didn't feel the burning in his stomach that he usually feels when drinking coffee! In the past he just put up with that temporary discomfort, thinking it was just the price to pay for drinking his beloved coffee. He has a sensitive stomach & we feel that when he drinks coffee, it would be worth it to have this one instead! We almost NEVER buy coffee out at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc so although the price is high when you consider it per pound, it's a drop in the bucket compared to how much our friends spend on buying coffee out! And then of course, it will allow me to be able to drink coffee without bladder side effects & my husband's stomach will be happier!! :) AND, last but not least - we both LOVE the flavor. So for now we will exclusively buy this low acid coffee!

One of the Better Low-Acid Coffees I've Ever Had...
For the record, I use a Breville Burr Grinder for beans and a DeLonghi $99 or under coffeemaker. I'm a huge fan of Brazilian coffee so I had to "sniff in" on this. I was diagnosed with GERD back in 2004 so I've always mixed low-acid coffee beans with micro-roasters, Peet's or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beans. Coffee like wine gets a lot more interesting when blended. I typically blend a variety of beans from various parts of the world. Here are my tasting notes on this: It isn't very sour at all; nose is good out of the bag; nose also quite good early on in brewing cycle (I am an "odd bird" and I bury my beak in there when it start brewing to get that initial sniff); very tiny touch of bitterness; sniff of sweet like brown sugar; smooth drinking; "medium-dark" is dead-on balls accurate with the body of this java; not smoky; soft in the mouth; tastes very good with brown sugar notes in mouth; can taste brown sugar on after taste; this coffee is good black which is obviously always the true test of a good coffee; I polish it off with a splash of half & half and more than a splash of whole milk (I stopped adding sugar in the raw many years ago since whole milk supplies plenty of sugar); I had NO HEARTBURN after taking a Zantec with this and I had three (3) six (6) ounce cups; no need to grab for a Tum's tablet either; very small touch of spice on nose RATING = A Trader Joe's discontinued carrying their low-acid French Roast that was pretty good so I had to seek out others. I used to take PPI meds but got off of them many years ago because I knew long-term it would be detrimental to my health. I'd rather adjust my diet and go with Zantec and this java will work in that effort.

Best priced low acid coffee
I've tried several of these low acid coffees. Most of them are pretty good considering what you're getting. They lack that edgy taste of regular coffee but they definitely help your stomach. Lucy's is best price and actually one of the better tasting ones. I would say not the best taste but definitely has best price / taste ratio.

To high a price for such a small bag.
Excellent coffee, great taste but just so small for the price. Needs to be a bigger bag or a smaller price

Noticeably easier on the stomach
I purchased the Organic Mellow Belly Low Acid Medium Dark Roast on Oct 28, 2025. The expiration date on the package was 08/25/2026, so I assumed it was roasted on Aug 25th of this year. This is fulfilled by Amazon Warehouse. I use the pour over preparation. My ratio on the first cup was 1:15, but I changed this to 1:17 because it was too strong for me. My filtered water temp is 200 degrees from electric kettle. I use a manual grinder with a ceramic core that has 5 grind sizes. I use the middle size. This is an acceptable cup of coffee that is noticeably easier on the stomach. Update: I need to correct my math. The coffee was strong at 15:1 so I reduced it by 2 grams, so my ratio was 13:1.

Caused Stomachache
I bought this because I thought low acid would not irritate my stomach but it did. Have had no problems with Starbucks Sumatra ground coffee, but wanted to grind my own. Now I have a mostly full bag I cannot return. Also did not really like the taste.
