Fantastic Unit for my 2011 BMW X3
Great product. Worked as advertised and instructions were adequate enough for me to perform the install.Keep in mind this setup comes with everything you need. The included wire harness is reaaaaly long so you have to be creative with where you stuff all the extra wiring. It’s challenging to install so I HIGHLY recommend removing the entire center console and center stack. Just remove everything to make room for the giant connectors and wires. The kit harness is for a few different models so they have to accommodate all makes. It’s understandable but frustrating as finding a place to stuff the extra wiring is maddening.I ended up putting the converter box behind the main screen. It’s easy to get to and manage this way. Run the bulk of the wires down below the vents and stuff them behind the OEM head unit. Run the needed wires to the glovebox and down the center console.Took me about 5 hours but it’s done right! Looks fantastic and is easy to manage! Get it.

Solid for the price
Purchased this unit a little over a year ago and installed on my 2013 BMW X3 28i.Functionality wise, it worked decently well. The wireless cohesion to carplay was very impressive, sometimes connecting when you're outside of the car. I would recommend, really made my car much more useable and safePros:- Strong Wireless Connection- Not terribly expensive- Directions pretty clear- No issues 90% of the timeCons:- Microphone installation was incredibly difficult to connect to oem- Screen Sporadically blacks out, but double tapping back button clears that issue- System lags when in cold climate- Sometimes need to re-seek phone to start carplay- For best looking integration, drill into glove box advised

Cool until it's not
I was really excited about this product when I got it as this is a great way to modernize a slightly older vehicle.Upon install, the UI was pretty smooth. Carplay hooked up easily and transition back and forth between the factory system & carplay was fairly seamless. It was also nice to find out that in new enough BMWs the aux cable is not needed for audio. One limitation to know about is that the transition between radio & carplay is not great but if you mostly run on carplay, that's not a huge deal. After a bit over a month of use the system started to act up (wasn't pairing as fast or at all). Audio on calls had an extremely bad problem with echoing even after tuning the mic with the internal software for this (note that the car does not do this while connected to the factory bluetooth). Now I have reset multiple times & the unit will no longer pair with the phone via bluetooth or cable (my phone does still work with other factory carplay systems).Realistically it's a cool idea but I wouldn't recommend buying it and honestly wish it would have failed a bit faster than it did so that I could still be in the return window...

Amazing - 5 stars!
It took about 4.5 hours to install. Now our weekend car 335is has Apple CarPlay and we could not be happier. Works flawlessly.Picture of halfway through install.Tips:- Watch all the videos on YouTube before you start.- don’t forget to hook up the AUX cable and not to pinch it.- spend the couple of bucks for a car trim pry set.- have towels, the harnesses are not long and the radio will scratch your console.- 3 series you have to mount the unit under glove box, not hard to do. It does not fit behind the radio.- have a small slotted/flathead screw driver and needle nose pliers for wire harness clips.

Its a pain to install but worth it
I installed it on my 2011 528i CIC. The reason im giving three stars is that the instruction manual is pretty much useless. I utilized SEVERAL youtube videos to get this installed. The installation is honestly different from car to car. I also reached out to support about the steering wheel controls and they said that there was no fix for my issue...great.
