Kenmore Top-Freezer Refrigerator with LED Lighting and 20.8 Cubic Ft. Total Capacity, Stainless Steel

I purchased the black Kenmore 61219 for our garage to replace the 20+ year refrigerator we had been using there. I like the fact this refrigerator is "garage ready" which means it can handle low temperatures better than those not rated as such. Most refrigerators are not designed to operate in under 50 deg temperatures. NOTE: that the smaller 18 cu ft version is not designated garage ready. Having previously only purchased large appliances from local dealers and big box stores I was a little leery purchasing online from Amazon of how delivery and installation and haul away of the old refrigerator would work. I need not have been. Delivery and haul away were quick and easy and in fact much more so than my last two appliance purchases from local big box stores. Kudos to Amazon and the delivery folks they use. As far as the refrigerator itself, it exceeded my expectations. For the price, I was expecting a very very basic model so was pleasantly surprised to find that it had glass shelves and led lighting. Of course others with higher expectations may not be as delighted, but for our needs this refrigerator fit the bill perfectly.

Pretty for a plain model (high gloss). Energy efficient. Nice inside and roomy on the door. Fairly quiet. Drawers are average plastic and average size. Our space only fits up to this size model which are limited choices. Good pick and good price. Have feeling it will last.

Refrigerator works but has design and cooling issues. 1) Freezer stays @ -10F, can't get it to come up to zero degrees. The back venting freezes inside the vents. 2) Frige is uneven in it's cooling. With the thermostat turned up to warmest setting, the bottom crisper drawers still freeze the veggies and lettuce, the door shelves are warmer than the central shelving units by about 7 degrees. Way too uneven. 3) The refrigerator thermostat control is in the front of the shelves, at the top middle and sticks down about 1 1/2 inches. When pulling out a gallon jug you constantly hit it. Why would anyone put it there? It's just in the way. 4) The shelving arrangement is clumsy at best. They are moveable but I can't find a good position for any of them to maximize the refrigerator usable space. 5) Why would you put a shelf in the door to hold heavy gallon containers? 6) The refrigerator door is scraping on something when closing. I can hear it but haven't figured out where it is yet. When I do it will be time for a service call under warranty. With all that said, it works but I would not call it a great product. Update on 12/1/2018 This fridge has the most uneven temperature areas I have ever seen. Some interior areas are normal while others are freezing. Items stored on the left side on the bottom shelf freeze while the right side is fine. It has the most UNUSABLE SPACE I have ever seen. I find myself constantly shifting things around constantly to get everything to fit. One additional note - the frost free freezer has frost on the outside of the packages. I call it junk. DO NOT BUY, you'll be sorry. This atrocity is going away as soon as I get some other projects done.

Overall the refrigerator works great. It is affordable and does what you would expect a fridge to do! It has a good amount of space and you can arrange the shelves to your needs. Only reason to down it a star is that it had a small dent, small enough that I could just put a magnet over it and not worry about the hassle of returning and waiting for a new fridge to arrive. There were two more small scratches in hidden places. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Our old fridge died, and this replacement worked in the limited space, with the advantage of being a little larger. So far, no complaints, it works well, and like the large shelves in the doors.This model does not have an ice-maker, which is as we wanted it. Nice and neat looking as well, and operates quietly.

Although we've only had this unit for approx. 45 days, we are pleased thus far. It is installed in our garage where the temperatures can stay rather cool (36-50deg.: we live at a high altitude area). This is the factor that dictated the purchase of an "Energy Star" refrigerator. The "ES" units apparently are more efficient at properly controlling their temperatures in low ambient temperature environments, whereas non-ES require an additional controller. This unit seems to be doing just that. It is very quiet while running. This fridge is certainly large enough and appears attractive both inside (glass shelves) and out. As noted above, it is in the garage. I will occasionally go out late at night to retrieve item(s). The internal lighting is substantial. I am positively impressed with this unit.

This is an excellent refrigerator and I am well pleased with everything that was explained in the ad because one should have no worry to it’s truth. Just be sure whatever is offered you the customer at Amazon will help you in any way.

Purchased to replace a fairly old Amana. The fridge looks really nice on the outside with it’s smooth front and textured sides. I wish that the inside lighting was a regular refrigerator bulb, as I feel like the LED bulb(s) clustered on the top just don’t produce the bright, clear light that I’m used to, so I don’t like the energy efficient lighting. Also the freezer part doesn’t have a light as far as o can tell. This fridge is pretty quiet. That is a nice feature. We’ve had it four days now and one thing I’ve noticed is that the clear plastic compartments seem to fog up for some reason. That issue is yet to be determined if it’s a problem. But the price is decent and it looks nice. As far as the lighting goes; if you are considering this unit, just make sure the LED light output and color tone suits your liking. Adding this July 2019. It’s making a grinding noise now and appears to be running almost constantly. I really advise not buying this fridge.
