this thing is small but mighty! i used the tester glass to try it out and it is so easy to use. minimal effort breaks through thick glass! the seatbelt cutter is a plus. you never know! get this for your vehicle. could be for you or to save someone else.

After viewing the latest bridge collapse I decided to update my OUTDATED safety hammer I have in our two vehicles. The two devices come with a piece of glass to test the hammer...ingenious idea! Years ago I purchased another style safety hammer and it never came with sample glass to test device. The glass samples is a GREAT selling point as you really don't know it's going to work if you can't try it out first - so kudos who thought of this! This nifty device will cut through your seat belt as well. I noticed one of the other reviewers stated they marked the window punch end with whiteout. I plan on doing the same with either white nail polish or a reflector type paint - in an emergency if your vehicle has plunged in to water it may be easier to see the highlighted end of the safety hammer in a PANIC situation. Hope it never has to be used! This neat gadget could save your life or love ones... Good price and well made.

This product seems to be solidly made, was easy to mount, and would be quickly accessible in an emergency. Hopefully I will never need to use it so I cannot say how it will work in an actual emergency. The only problem I encountered was that the O-rings used to hold the caps on would not stay in place. One broke completely and the other would come off when the cap was removed. I finally decided that in an emergency I would not want to take the time to remove the cap anyway, so I have just left them off. It is still a good looking, easy to clean, package without the caps in place.

So this didn’t come with instructions but is easy to use. One side you take off the top and it has a seatbelt cutter. The other side is the window breaker. It’s pretty neat that they give you a piece of glass to test each one. All you do is hold down the glass breaker side and it breaks the glass. Just make sure to do that somewhere you can pick up all the glas pieces, I was rather surprised at how far they spread when I broke the glass. It’s pretty powerful. The little holder they send with each of the tools could be a little bit stickier to attach to the surface in my car but they aren’t a deal breaker.

It works as described on the two glass samples. The seatbelt cutter is a little iffy. As far as mounting in a car, I attached mine to a smooth surface, not the molding found throughout the car.

If you’re counting on using the holder it won’t work. It slides right out. Holders are important. If you’re in an emergency, you need to be able to get to it right away.. so without a holder where is it? In your glove compartment? Center console? For emergencies it needs to be easily accessible, I wouldn’t bother with this brand.

This is a really cool gadjet for the car. It sticks to the dashboard and is handy to grab in an emergency. Those workers who died in the Baltimore bridge collapse died because they were eating in their cars on a break, and could not escape once the cars hit the water. I’m not willing to die like that. I can swim and now I’ve got a window breaker and seatbelt cutter and I’m going to try to make it out alive. The kit comes with two discs of auto safety glass that you can practice on, and it is impressive. I cross a bridge every day. Worth the price for peace of mind.

Works, convenient and simple to use

Very effective product and works without significant pressure meaning anyone can use it. Test glass samples are a great idea so you know how it works in the event you ever need to use it. One end cap is a little loose but nothing to be overly concerned about.

This tool is as safe as the description said it was. It comes with a piece of tempered glass for you to try breaking and won't be startled if an emergency arises where you do have to break the window. It also comes with a little manual which has pictures and text. Easy to read and understand. One of the best things I have bought in quite a while. Highly recommend.
