A well made tool, that is very versatile and can be left outside ready to use whenever it is needed. Brilliant!
The media could not be loaded. I have had a Hozelock Metal Watering Lance for over 2 years now and I love it. It has a multi spray head like this product and I have used it a lot since I got it. The reason that I decided to get this Ultramax is because the lance is pretty long and it makes close up work much more difficult as I have to hold my arm back whilst working up close as the trigger is at the bottom of the lance. The vast majority of the jobs I use it for are close up so in the end I decided to get this attachment. The Ultramax Gun is predominantly made of metal, it has a flow control 50 to 100%, a lockable trigger and 7 different spray patterns. It is basically an 'all in one' spray gun. Please see the video for an in depth look at the spray patterns and how it all works. The gun has a lovely heavy, quality feel to it and each time a different spray pattern is selected it clicks positively into place. There is just the right amount of resistance on the nozzle head when it is being turned. The flow control has a smooth action with just the right amount of resistance too. It is a very well made and professional feeling tool.Any gardener will find this spray gun very handy and as someone who who is not into gardening I can say that most other people would find it very handy too. You can basically pick it up for any job that you need to do without hunting around for the right hose attachment.I think that this Multi Spray Gun is brilliant and it will now be permanently attached to my garden hose awaiting the next task. If you are thinking about getting one of these spray guns, I do not think you will be disappointed. Yes it is more money, but for that you are getting a well made tool that is very versatile and can be left outside ready to use whenever it is needed. Brilliant!

Durable and versatile garden hose spray gun
Bought this to replace an old, well used and properly battered Hozelock Multi Spray Pro gun. I really liked the Pro as it was versatile. I pretty much used every spraying mode that it had to offer for various garden watering needs. It was simply a joy to use. But after a good few years of leaving it kicking around on the patio in a south-facing garden in sun, snow and all in-between, it started to leak a bit. And along with replacing our garden hose, I thought I'd get another. The Ultramax appears to be exactly the same as the old Pro... just with the nozzle colours reversed and a slight reshaping of the handle. It has the same spraying and watering functions and appears to be built just as well... so I expect I'll get another good few years out of it just as before.Impressed with it so far so... recommended.

Low powered jet function & overpriced
I bought this spray gun on the back of its good reviews. However many are misleading with respect to the jet function, which is low powered, this is not to do with your house water pressure, as many reviewers insist, its the spray gun its self.I know this because the original basic hozelock nozzle gives a jet stream of water which is atleast twice as powerful as the jet setting on this gun, which is what I had to use when I was trying to clean and remove dirt from my artificial grass, as this gun wasn't powerful enough, same house, same water pressure, different performance. The other metal Hozelock Multi Plus Spray Gun, which I bought this gun to replace does give a powerful jet stream, but didnt survive the its first winter, where I left it outside, when it was snowing, and afterwards water kept running from the handle. The pros are that this gun does allow you to adjust the water flow/pressure, which other spray guns dont allow, however as said before the most powerful water pressure is around half as powerful as the basic jet nozzle, and it seems to spray the water around in this mode too much, not a focused jet steam as with other nozzles/guns.The other functions seem to work fine, though I haven't used them for any specific task as yet, which would allow me to spot any deficiencies.I bought this as I hope it is more robust come winter time than the other spray gun, and that it also has a tap function, which is useful for filling buckets, and cleaning muddy shoes etc, when you don't want a lot of spray coming out.I one starred this, as I will have to buy another spray gun with a better jet steam, as this gun does not do the job.

Well made, versatile addition to my Hozelock items
I have used Hozelock watering items now for 40 years and they have never let me down. From hoses, hose connectors to lawn sprinklers, tap connectors and hose reels they have been the mainstay of my watering needs in the garden. My problem now is that my grip is really poor so I needed a watering spray gun that is not only easy to use but also robust, as I do tend to drop things these days.. not good I know, as some things, like plates, tend to break when you drop them. The first thing I noticed was how well made this item is, heavy but not too heavy and importantly the connection to the hose connector is actually metal and not plastic, important as these guns tend to get 'twisted about' in use and that attachment point MUST be strong. otherwise you could get soaked if it fractures or leaks.I love the fact that it actually has seven spray patterns, so something for every need really, and all by just twisting the head to the appropriate spray, which is clearly illustrated on the yellow part of the head.Other features I like are the flow adjustment ('red bit' at the back top) which you twist to regulate the flow for around 50% to 100%, and also the fact you can lock the trigger, once again a BIG advantage for me with my poor grip, it takes all the strain out of having to hold the trigger in all the time.I have accidentally dropped it 3 times now, once onto concrete and twice on the grass, and there is no sign that it has been dropped, so that's a relief, it passed the drop test.I have always advocated if you buy the best you can afford, you will be rewarded in the long run, as hopefully this spray gun will last me many, many years and I will not have to replace it, like you have to with cheaper made/plastic spray guns - like my neighbours use.Well so far, since I purchased this 2 months ago, I can find no fault with it and can happily recommend it to anyone in the market for a quality spray gun !

Hasn't lasted a year
I bought this product last summer and was initially most impressed by it. It has a metallic body which had a feeling of robustness to it and the variety of spray patterns is very good. However I was slightly concerned about the relatively flimsy looking plastic handle which in the end proved to be its undoing. I used it with good effect throughout last summer and at the end of the season I removed it and placed it in the garden shed. When I brought it out to use it again, to rinse out a bucket, I squeezed the trigger and the thing came apart depositing the internals into the bucket. The two plastic spigots on the trigger had completely snapped off rendering the whole thing useless. There appears to be nowhere on the Hozelock website to obtain a spare part. You can see the two broken spigots in the pictures. They locate in the hole on either side of the main body.
