I've been wanting a desk mat for awhile now. Most of the ones I come across are leather, rubber or silicon--I have nothing against these materials but I wanted something different. When I saw this Graf Lantz desk pad made of merino wool felt I couldn't order it fast enough.The photos on the item description don't do it justice and I'm not sure my photos do either. The mat is made of a beautiful, high quality material--the merino wool texture looks more like a luxurious sweater than an office product. It's a great size, though the size you need has much to do with your individual desk setup. The pad measures 31" wide and 19.5" long which accomodated my large-ish keyboard very comfortably. I've got an oversized mousepad on my desk at the moment and it hung over the edge but a smaller mousepad would fit perfectly. The mousepad also comes in a lighter gray 'granite' color. I went back and forth between the darker one that I ended up ordering and the lighter gray color. The lighter gray would provide more of a contrast, but the darker gray matches better with my desk and components.If I have one gripe it's this--the pad slides around quite a bit. This likely has more to do with the 'slick' texture of my desktop than the pad itself. I'm going to find something to minimize the slippage like industrial strength velcro or maybe strong double sided tape. Can't really get salty about the slippage when there's a good chance that it wouldn't happen on a wooden desk.This is really a beautiful and luxurious addition to any office. The pictures don't accurately convey what a high quality product this is. I'm thinking about getting one to travel with as it would give me a constant work texture on the various surfaces I encounter on the road. All in all, a first class product.

I was initially skeptical that this Wool Felt Desk Pad from Graf Lantz could be worth the price, but it impressed right out of the package. It came nicely rolled and flattened out immediately. It is thicker than I expected, and has a nice texture that stops things like pens from rolling across your desk. I have found that I need a mousepad on top of it for my mouse to run smoothly, but otherwise it keeps my keyboard and other accessories in place and it is extra cushion for my wrists. Best of all, it ensures that you do not scratch up the surface of your desk! It also does a good job of absorbing the little bit of condensation that comes off of water glasses.One disappointment was that no care instructions appeared to come included with the package, and it would have been nice to have a sense of the best course of action when that first coffee spill or pen ink break comes.

I'm kind of confused what all the over the top love for this mat is about. It's a nicely made wool mat, it's oversized, but that's about it. I tried it with my pc and my forearm kept getting itchy and irritated from resting on the mat. For the price I'm at a loss, I can't justify the cost for the use, there's much cheaper options. I'm actually using this as a mat underneath my motorcycle because I couldn't take the irritation using it when gaming. But for the quality of the mat and overall build I still have to give it 4 stars.

The large pad is enough pace to set a full-size keyboard, mouse, and a monitor with a little room to spare. It is 3mm of felted wool without any kind of backing material. The cheaper pads with backing tend to dissolve of get stuck to the desk so one without a backing is preferred. The pad is slightly scritchy as wool is and you probably know if you like it or not but wouldn't consider it scratchy in hand feel. The dark grey has some variation to it and adds a much needed organic aesthetic. The pad doesn't slip with a monitor and computer on it. Optical mice work fine on it and have not had any issue with them, however, the soft base does not work with some (Apple) tack pads as they need to be on a hard surface to click. I just use dimes and it works great. The second negative is if you thought your cat like sleeping on your keyboard before, wait until you add a soft sleeping pad under it! The pad also takes any sharpness out of keyboard clacks and is more pleasant to type on than a hard surface for some keyboards (especially if they needed dampening in the first place. It also adds some general sound dampening in the workspace given how big the large mat is. Overall, this mat is functionally and aesthetically a fantastic addition to my workspace and while the price is higher than most, the cost is justified by the quality. Highly recommended!

This is a chic mat made of Merino wool and is going to be overkill for most uses you will have, but if you want something that looks much more elegant than a generic neoprene mat, this may be your best option. It's a good size, and we intend to have some upscale card/dice games played on this mat. It lies smooth and flat, and the wool texture makes picking up playing cards a piece of cake. Again, this is more expensive than most mats, but it definitely looks and feels a step up from the other offerings and would be just as beautiful on a desk as it is on a game table. :)
