I am an apartment manager and work maintenance at times. I started doing plumbing and need a cutter for the PVC and PEX. I was a little concerned, as the price was so low compared to the big box, retail stores. I figured I would take the chance. I am so very glad I did. This cutter is amazing! The blade is coated with like a Teflon substance. This cuts right through anything. The jaws actually open up wider then most others I have seen. I would suggest this to ANYONE dealing with plumbing. I have already shared the link to 2 other people in our building and both have bought them. Thus works perfectly. It makes the job so much quicker then using a saw or even grabbing a rip saw or oscillating tool. I promise you will be very happy with this cutter!

I love the quality of these in terms of cutting well, blade is very sharp, ratchet works perfectly, etc. These are slightly bigger than the ones I usually see at even plumbing supply shops, which max out at 2". However, it's very difficult to get them to cut square. You can start nice and square but it kicks to one side front-to-back as it bites. The fixed jaw is angled in both directions, presumably to allow a maximum diameter pipe to open a little as the cut is made, but the angle is excessive. In my use the cuts were close enough, but a square cut would produce a stronger joint because there's more bonding surface.

Worked exactly as expected. Makes 2.5" PVC and ABS pipe easy to cut square to length. Glad for quick delivery and clean-up tool included.

Great tool wish I would have bought one years ago

Bought this months ago, but only just used it today, too late to return. Unfortunately, this pipe cutter does not do a good job cutting pipe. I tried 1/2", 3/4", and 1", all with the same results; very difficult to tighten the cutter on pipe and would crush more than cut the pipe. Used to have a smaller version that I got from Lowe's that worked great, went with this one when I lost my other one, but very disappointed. Maybe the one I got was just defective and not very sharp compared to others', but too late for me to exchange or return so I can only review based on the one I have.

Works very well, easy to use

This 2-1/2" Ratchet PVC Pipe Cutter is the hero we all need for our plumbing adventures! I needed to cut through some 2" PVC pipes, and this beast sliced through them like a hot knife through butter. Honestly, I felt like a PVC-slicing samurai. However, the included deburring tool? It's the sidekick that never quite makes the cut. It broke on its first use and went straight to the trash can without passing 'Go'. So, if you're here for some smooth pipe-cutting action, this cutter is your trusty steed. Just don't count on the deburring tool to save the day.

We have a lot of dog treats and two small dogs. Cow tendons, rawhide and similar. This cuts the treats down to manageable size easily. I have no doubt it will be useful for PVC pipe too.
