It will work with win 10 or win 11. I use on a win 10 computer.

Possible if the Chrome Book has a Type C port. I bought an adapter for mine to connect to USB. Check on return policy to make sure you can return if won't work. I have done some returns and no problem at all. Just apply to return, print or have QRCode on phone and take to local UPS or other store that is listed. Drop off and done.

Is special software required for asus fa507rc windows 11, won't play dvd?

I bought it for mac but there is no software for mac not on disk or online.

Very good external DVD/CD drive. Very compact, very light (all plastic) and a kinda neat ‘pocket’ to stash the usb-c cord. Few things I’ve noticed after using it for a few days… 1) it is so light you need to hold it down firmly when closing the tray 2) I find it better to use 2 fingers/thumbs to close the tray 3) sometimes gets a bit loud as the media spins Still, I really like it and it works very well.
