I homeschool my kids, and I thought this set was perfect for a nice art lesson. It comes with all the colors needed, and even the paper needed. The quality of the pencils is excellent, and the video lesson was easy to follow. She learned a lot, and made some beautiful art. I hope this company decides to make many more sets like this, that include the free lesson.

I bought this as a gift for my little brother to help teach him shading techniques. He likes nature and I will say this is a great start. Inside the box came with a variety of prisma products. It introduced you to different products without blowing the bank. It also came with a reference sheet of the techniques that will be discussed in the lessons. The downside to this is that there is no booklet or instructions on how to do the techniques. It makes you go online and redeem the code that is inside the box to get your lessons. If you do it via computer, the code is below the QR code. Other than that, this is a great introduction kit for anyone who wants to learn traditional technique or is beginning.

I have no complaint about the pencils. I dabble in drawing on my own, but am not advanced in anyway. Like other reviewers I bought this set because it offered a free video to help draw and shade the flower. I couldn't access the video, in that sense they shouldn't offer that its free. I feel shortchanged.

I have been a teacher and an artist. I am always interested in programs that teach art or help artists chill out and just rest into some simple art exercises. This set seemed like a great idea. HOW THIS COMES This comes in a great box with all sorts of photos on it and instructions. It comes well packed and all pencils and items are in plastic and protected - hard plastic tray. You can store the set in this box as long as you like- it is very sturdy. PENCILS The colors in this set are geared for the flower project. If you have other pencils you can add to the flower when done, but if you don't, there is plenty here to help you feel like you have made a good piece of artwork. OTHER PARTS There are two markers, an eraser, and a sharpener. All of them are excellent quality. BOOKLETS There is a basic intro booklet to the project and there is a heavy cardstock with the pencil outline on it. After that, there is a pad of paper which is textured and appears to be watercolor paper. It does have heavy texture to it which affects your drawing. HOW TO GET CLASSES To get the classes, there should be a sticker on the top of the box as you open it. You scan that and type in the special code that is ONLY IN THAT STICKER- not on the box- and you will get access to the class you need once you have located it on the site. You press that you will buy it and then it gives you a chance to put in your code or credit card. You of course only need your code and it will go to zero and you press enter and you are signed up for the class. I highly recommend computer or tablet if you have the option. Phones are pretty small. VIDEO QUALITY I am very impressed by the video quality. It is well filmed, excellently narrated and gives you the feeling you are in a class made just for you. PROJECT The project is very basic. I really feel that anyone who follows the basic instructions will end up with a project they will be proud of even if they never used colored pencils before. These are excellent pencils and they really layer well if you are light with them and don't press too hard. WHAT IS THE FLOWER? If you are inquisitive like me, I want to save you the research- this is a blue lotus flower in full bloom. PHOTO I have not gotten very far yet on my project, but I am posting my beginning project and will update later as I work more on it. THE BOTTOM LINE This is an excellent set. I think it is perfect for kids or adults who want to do artwork that is above the usual cheaper tool quality. This uses high quality art pencils with good art instruction to help establish good habits for using colored pencil. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This would make an EXCELLENT GIFT for anyone who wants to try some artwork. Yes, it even will work for an accomplished artist who just needs to veg out and do some simple artwork without having to think too hard. It is amazing how it will trigger creativity once you are into it.
