Works great to monitor fridge.
I am using this to monitor my vintage kegerator temp. Probe was thin and easy to slip into rear of kegerator. Screen is large and easy to read. Would be easy to surface mount with some double sided tape.

Great for water heater pilot alarm
Purchased two of these alarm thermometers. Got this mainly for the gas water heater because the pilot goes out occasionally, usually during windy days, and the wife does not like cold showers. On the water heater I tied the outdoor sensor to the side of the brass pressure relief valve, which has good thermal conductivity to the hot water tank, and set the max/min values to 140F/107F. During normal usage (long shower) the temperature only drops down to about 115F. If the pilot goes out the temperature drops below the minimum setting and the alarm sounds. Perfect! Put the second one in the garage fridge/freezer because the GFIC that its on gets tripped once in awhile, usually after working with power tools in the garage or yard. Sometimes that happens right when turning the tool off so I don’t notice. Thermometers are in the garage but the alarms are loud enough to be heard in the house at night when there are no other competing sounds. Units have magnets on the back for easy mounting and came with two batteries each. These units are a nice inexpensive solution to avoiding cold showers and melted ice cream.

Works really well
Does what it says it does. Accurate and easy to read display. A few nit-picks. 1. The instructions are hard to understand. The English translation needs to be better. 2. I'm not crazy about button batteries as I do not keep extras around. Would have liked AAA or AA battery instead. 3. The ADJ (adjust) button is tiny and on the back of the unit. It is difficult to use and set the alarm settings. Overall, I would recommend this product.

Alarm is not very loud
So someone in our family left our basement freezer door open. All our frozen meats and soups and lasagnas and whatnot all thawed and came up to room temp for more than 48hours. High $ loss. I bought this "alarm" to make sure we notice if this ever happens again. This is a decent temperature monitor with a remote probe. It has an alarm function that you set a range of acceptable temps. Outside this range, the alarm is triggered. So for example you can set it to -20F to 25F and if your freezer gets warmer than 25F or colder than -20F it beeps. You can set this range from like -58F to 200F. The problem though is that the alarm is pretty quiet. You are not going to hear it two rooms away. Maybe even not one room away. Also it only beeps 5 times, then silent for 1 minute 13 seconds and 5 more beeps and so on. So you could be walking past your freezer during the 73 seconds of silence and not know you had an alarm. I'm going to look for a louder alarm. This one is fine for monitoring your temps, but don't expect to hear the alarm if say you have your freezer out in the garage...

Works for my fish tank!
Works in my aquarium so far. The high and low temp range is adjustable by a few points at a time. Kinda hard to follow instructions, but I figured it out and gives me a sense of security for my fish tanks.

Reading the temp is difficult. Still working it out after a week.

Appears to work well as magnetic attached thermometer for chest freezer, recording max/min. Current temperaturec an be clearly read from distance. Is it accurate - don't know but good enough - 'Out' probe reads 0.5 degrees different to unit 'In' reading which is close match to others at room temperature. Confusing instructions to set up alarm range - examples are for positive ranges when use is for (negative) freezers plus have to hold in button to go up to maximum to get to negative values.

Worked right out the box. Magnetic so can be placed on fridge door. Small enough to be easy to place Ticks the boxes for me

works ok, but for what we wanted we needed a louder alarm. i thought it would be as loud as a digital timer that we have, but this was really quiet. maybe fine if you just want a discreet sound when in the same room. Returned and Amazon issued refund without a problem, good customer service.
