Improperly labeled
The grits are not properly labeled. The 1200 grit is actually coarser than the 1000 grit. I mentioned this to the seller and he (or she?) gave a non-answer. Oh well. Probably a quality control thing on at the Chinese manufacturing plant.

Good quality
Time will tell how they last over time but I've used them several times and they work great.

It works.
the fit and finish are kind of lacking, and it's two metal sheets glued together with a surface coating of diamond particles. for the price it might as well be amazing. it's ugly stained and just generally rough around the edges. but as a tool it should work well and is well worth the price.it can cut easily dry or wet. and has plenty of uses being a diamond stone, it also cuts fast.

Good so far
I sharpened an old chisel that someone (not me) had really abused. It had actual chips out of the edge. I reground the chisel with the coarse side, and then gave it a rough sharpen with the relatively fine side. It worked well, but I haven't used it since then, and I can't say at this time how it will last.

Large step from 400 to 1000 grit.
The step from 400 to 1000 grit is too large. A 600 grit is needed to bridge the gap between.

last forever just use water or some liquid...to keep the filings washed out

Good product
These work fine for honing knives or tools. I rated them with 4 stars due to the product description which states that there are 2 in the package. That is misleading as each is one sided and they are glued together to make one piece (fine on one side and coarse on the other). I use them (it) to hone wood turning tools and they seem to be OK.
