The minimum extension is 6”
It would have been nice if the description mentioned the minimum length the extension works is 6”. Yes it’s 12” long and you can cut it down BUT there are only 6 removable segments 1” each. The base valve is 3” and I needed 7” but you can’t cut this at 4 inches because the segments are tapered pipe thread and can’t be screwed into coupling or escutcheon backwards. The extension option are 6”-12” in 1” increments.

False Advertising - Does not include floor plate
Pictures suggest this comes with a black floor plate. It does not. It is only the extension tube. Disappointing and sets my project back while I wait on a floor plate now.

Bad quality Control
Ordered an extension for a fireplace I was building along with several other related items. After installing the extension, I realized that the inside was blocked with excess plastic from the injection molding process and it is unusable. It will require some demolition of my fireplace to fully remove and replace it. :(
