Finally! High-Frame Rate Gaming + High-Quality Wired Audio
If you’re an Xbox Series X owner, you know the frustration: the console has no dedicated optical or 3.5mm audio port. While you can plug headphones into the controller, the audio compression and battery drain are real bummers. I bought the OREI BK-102A specifically to solve this, and it’s a total game-changer for wired headphone users. Why This is the "Xbox Secret Weapon": No Sacrifice on Visuals: Most "audio extractors" on the market cap out at 60Hz. This OREI unit handles 4K @ 120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) perfectly. My games still look buttery smooth on my monitor while I get direct audio. Pure Audio Quality: By plugging my "regular" headphones (or my desktop amp) directly into the 3.5mm jack on the splitter, the sound is significantly cleaner and louder than what comes out of the Xbox controller. Zero Lag: Unlike Bluetooth transmitters which have noticeable delay, this extracts the audio signal instantly. In shooters like Halo or Call of Duty, hearing footsteps in real-time is crucial, and this delivers. Stays Out of the Way: It’s small enough to tuck behind the console. Once you set the EDID switches, you can basically forget it’s there. A Few Tips for Xbox Users: Settings Check: Make sure to go into your Xbox Audio settings and set the "Headset Format" to Stereo Uncompressed (or Dolby Atmos/DTS if you have the license) to ensure the splitter sends the right signal to your headphones. Cables: To maintain that 120Hz speed, ensure you are using the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox (or another certified 48Gbps cable) from the console to the splitter. Final Verdict: If you want to use your favorite pair of wired studio headphones or high-end gaming cans with the Series X without being tethered to a controller or sacrificing your 120fps performance, get this. It’s the most reliable bridge between next-gen consoles and "old school" analog audio.

So far, so good...
I've only had this for a couple of days now so it may be a little soon for a review however, so far so good! It does everything as advertised. I have definitely put it through it's paces the last couple of days. Testing all ports on all my devices. I'm an avid gamer and own a lot of consoles. I can confirm the output on all ports runs at 4k @120hz in HDR. It's quite impressive. No lag whatsoever. I saw some reviews saying that it does not automatically switch hdmi ports however, I have not ran into this problem. Mine does switch automatically. It does come with an IR remote but I've not had to use it apart from when I've been testing. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Don't bother with the cheapo devices, I've tried a few and none do what they claim to do. I live by the motto, 'You buy cheap you buy twice' this thing is the real deal. I highly recommend.

Almost Flawless
This is my third HDMI splitter, the first two were around the £30.00 price point and worked on my Xbox Series X but not on my PS5 - that said, I didn't check whether the Xbox was showing as 4K 120Hz on either. Needless to say, after being £56.00 down I was still on the hunt for a working HDMI splitter for my two consoles. Up pops the OREI 8K UltraHD HDMI Splitter. I went for the 2 x 2 without audio as it suited my needs better, plus it was cheaper! Item turned up (left outside in the freezing cold courtesy of Amazon Prime deliverers!) and I immediately unboxed it and looked to get it plugged in. The unit itself is very solid and feels premium in your hands. The remote is a little plastic naff thing so I left that in the box. The UGREEN power from my last switch was still in place and fitted this unit so I used that, connected my 3 8K HDMI 2.1 cables and gave a test. To my delight I could now easily switch between my PS5 and my Xbox without having to fiddle around in the cupboard to swap out from the Samsung Frame control box. So far so good. The first downside was with the HDMI control. When I turned on my Xbox (which in turn, turned on the TV) it also turned on my PS5 and, as the PS5 powered on last, the OREI box switched over to that. That issue doesn't occur though if I switch on the PS5, the Xbox remains powered off. Initially, the PS5 seemed to be working fine - menu options showed 120Hz was automatic, although the VRR was disabled (which I was sure was enabled when connected directly). Games seemed fine but I wasn't 100% sure it was running at 120Hz. The Xbox though was showing that the TV wasn't cable of 4K at 120Hz. Not ideal but at least it's a working solution so I was going to go with it. Today though, after everything had been power cycled (except the splitter), the PS5 and the Xbox are both running at 4K 120Hz - note, I don't normally power off the TV at the mains but I did during my testing because there's an issue with the Samsung Frame when it's left connected to an idle device for a prolonged period of time, it messes with the audio. Well, cuts the audio completely! A power cycle is the only resolution, so something to bear in mind if you have any issues when first setting up. Why only 4 stars then? Well, I had a problem where I had both consoles on, powered off the Xbox thinking I can simply switch over to the PS5 but was stuck with a green screen so had to hard power the PS5 too. Given the power-up snafu I mentioned earlier, this could end up being a regular issue when I play Xbox so, to me, that warranted a 1 star removal. Could just require a firmware upgrade that I haven't looked into yet. Once I've done that I may come back and update the review/rating accordingly. TL/DR; works almost perfectly with the Samsung Frame (plugged into the Game port), Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Hip hip OREI for this product!
Top marks. Connected this up to my PS5 and Switch 2 as I lost an HDMI port due to the addition of a new soundbar. I used a separate micro usb cable I had kicking about and utilised the USB socket on my TV as a power source for this product, which has worked perfectly. So far this product has worked as intended and flawlessly. Sound and picture quality are on point and the auto switch function works perfectly. Extremely happy with this product and can honestly say it is well worth the money.

Splitting hdmi to separate for audio and visual devices
Seems to be doing the job so far. I had issues with signal drops to my projector whilst I was passing my firestick through the hdmi-in/out on my soundbar. I'm now using this to split my hdmi feeds between the projector and surround sound system

It works perfectly as a switch. The best thing about the switch. When it is put into auto. When one source is switched off, It automatically changed to the next source. Highly recommended.

This is my second OREI HDMI Matrix 2x2 switcher. I have 2 televisions in my home bar. I have my cable HDMI connected to one input and a Roku in the other. The outputs go to the 2 TVs. I can have cable on either TV with Roku on the other, or both TVs on either signal. The sound from the input is provided to the TV via the HDMI cable (the optical sound / sound extractor are not required). The only hiccup that I had was when I first connected the TVs, only one had sound. I swapped the output ports to the opposite TVs and now it works without any issues.
