Spend the extra money!
This loom is absolutely phenomenal. Its steps above any other loom I have used. The hats I have been able to make with such ease are wonderful! The speed and functionality is great. It doesn't drop stitches like the others I have had. I love it I love it I LOVE IT. It was absolutely worth the extra money to upgrade.

Runs smooth, sturdy, easy to use
Loving the Addi. I have been on YouTube for how to. So far so good, not having any dropped stitches or issues. Tried another brand and sent it back. The Addi is smoother. And I don't feel it would wear or break as easily.

If I could give this machine NEGATIVE stars I would
Too bad you can't give a zero star review or negative stars. I am SO upset about this, it has caused my blood pressure to go through the roof. A bit of a backstory; I have been contemplating buying this for a little over a year. Did a TON of research, watched countless video and I am a crafter so most crafts are pretty easy for me to pick up. I wanted to add knitted hats and headbands to the inventory I sell at my craft shows. I didn't just blindly jump in when I decided to buy this. Not with that price tag, nope I knew I needed to do a bunch of research before I decided to go for it. I got the machine in but couldn't dig into it right away as I had so many other things I was trying to wrap up for my craft show. I had it for about 3 weeks before I was able to actually sit down and play with this machine.Assembly was simple enough (attach the legs and you are good to go), I read through the user manual like I always do to make sure I was doing everything right. I am not going to get too technical and list all of the plethora of yarns I tried with this machine, but over 20 attempts to make something that didn't skip stitches, break needles because the yarn was bunching up and I still do NOT have a successful piece. Naturally, by the time I discovered what a hunk of expensive junk this is, I am out of my 30 day return policy. SO here I am stuck with this $138 machine that literally has done nothing for me except raise my blood pressure, cause countless hours of headaches and I am so done. I even had someone who has actual experience with these machines sitting here with me to make sure it wasn't me. He is the reason I even started looking at knitting machines because he was able to score a second-hand machine at a thrift store and he was making lots of cool hats. To ensure I was doing everything right, he was there and I was doing everything right from casting, to making sure I was going slow at first he even gave me tips on what to do once you get a good portion of the tube going to make sure it stayed in position and to make things easier when finishing off the hat. He said there is literally no reason this machine should be doing what it is doing (or NOT doing for that matter.)I am unsure if there is a better machine out there, but I am not going to find out because I thought the more $$ you spend, means that it's a better quality machine. Clearly, I was wrong. Save yourself the headache and either go cheaper with a better machine from some other manufacturer or learn to knit by hand. I don't have time to knit by hand because I have too many other things that I do that are time consuming as well.I hope you find this review helpful!!

Ongoing Saga ADDI SOLD BY GM COM - NO REPLACEMENTS ONLY REFUNDS (Edited) CUSTOMER SERVICE - READ ON
(See edit below this comment, prior to the helpful follow-up)Company GM COM – no replacement option. A small replacement part needed, in the handle AFTER 11 DAYS; the crank shaft for the screw to hold it on fell off while running smoothly. Why: *For not backing up their product and not communicating with me*, I have decided to return this entire expensive knitting machine, even though I cannot re-purchase it for the sale price I originally bought it for now. It is only a small part I requested a replacement for, not the entire machine. Frustrating.EditOngoing Saga: First, thanks to the Amazon personnel! They are STELLAR in this matter!Janis at GM COM (company seller of the Addi knitting machine through Amazon) sent an email out at about 1AM this morning. I had already begun the process of return the day before, getting the shipping label lined up.Janis offered me compensation of a nominal amount of a refund instead of the entire return since this company does not offer parts. It is not the ADDI company, I presume. I will take this amount that was refunded to my card and pay someone to 3D the part.Since repurchasing this Addi knitting machine was not possible at the sale price any longer and has gone back up following the holidays, I was going to purchase and hope for the best of a Sentro knitting machine, since it appears on YouTube frequently in many DIY tutorials along with Addi. Several people seem to like it okay. However, now that I have finally been contacted with this new choice to make to: either proceed with the return and try out the other option knitting machine (Sentro), or to halt all gears and let Amazon know I would take the compensatory refund for the part I need. I thought what a can of worms! (Ended up, it really wasn't.)My husband pointed out to me that I purchased this machine since it was the leader in its industry, so I decided to get a replacement part for the cracked shaft by getting a 3D part printed with the refund and keep the Addi knitting machine. I told Janis at the GM COM company, in my reply, that I would edit my review once the refund was completed.Minutes later in chat with an Amazon personnel, I was told it was refunded and would show up in 3-5 business days on my card. EZ PZ!So, next step, I am taking this Addi machine apart as demonstrated on a YouTube video, a couple who disassembled it completely and put shims in the hand crank area to get rid of eventual rocking of the handle which operates the gears (so the gears would not grind off by rocking back and forth), plus the other part of the crank. Look it up on YouTube. I am going to take it apart primarily to inspect all the parts while I still have the option to return it in case I find anymore "situations" of cracking in the plastic construction. I think it is probably going to be fine, but this sure hasn't turned out faster than hand knitting. I could have gotten my project done by now --haha. I just call this a learning curve experience, hopefully with a continued good outcome. Otherwise, life would get boring.Last note, it means a lot when customer service backs up the name "customer service" with a smile. Actions do speak louder than words. Thank you for your help Janis, at GM COM, seller of my Addi knitting machine, through Amazon. It made all the difference that you responded positively.
