Working better with updated firmware
I desperately need this device. I use a Pixel 6a, but my car only offers wired Apple Car connectivity. This amazing device affords me wireless Android Auto use. When it works, the angels sing! The downside: it has proven unreliable at interfacing to the car (by USB) and also to the phone, wirelessly. It would succeed in the first connection only about 40% of the time, and in the second at about 33%. This made each car trip a tragic comedy of plugging and unplugging the Ottocast until it succeeded at both ends.However... after updating it's firmware (which is not very simple to do, although the booklet roughly describes it fairly accurately), I think the first connection, to the car, has been fixed and the second one perhaps ameliorated. And I *think* the second connection can be made reliably recoverable by restarting the phone. Ideal? Hardly. But it is progress.Bottom line: don't give up on this product before trying a firmware update.

Exactly what the MB C class needed
Updated 2/20. I have now had this for about a week. When it works it's great, but I've been having serious issues where it connects and just shows a black screen.I have to say I am shocked this actually works. Based off what everyone was saying I expected to be returning this immediately. I plugged it in and 15 seconds later I was connected. Works really well. I have an AMG C43, which runs the Command system and is the same as the Mercedes C class. I have the 10 inch wide screen and it's been plagued with MB not giving Android Auto widescreen and instead showing a stupid AA to the left. With this gadget you get full screen AA and frankly it's awesome. So far I'm blown away at how well it works. Way simpler than I was expecting. I'm hoping I don't run into any issues. I'm doing a 7 hour drive north in a week so we'll see how well it holds up.Navigating is a little funky but is easy to learn. Push up or down on the wheel or steering control to move from one box to the next, then turn the knob or right to left to navigate inside the box. It takes about 15 seconds to start up and then is up and running quickly. I'll update if I run into any issues. For now this is the solution I've been looking for since I bought the car.

Struggles with Android Auto
This seems to work seemlessly with my iPhone, but my wife's Google Pixel 6A has occasional issues. When the car is first turned on the screen has terrible pixelation issues that take about 3-5 minutes to go away. The other main issue is phone calls are terrible quality. The person on the other side is frequently complaining about a massive delay in sound, muffled sound, or not being able to hear her at all. It's nice to not plug in for Apple Carplay or Android Auto and it is very fast when starting up the car, but this is clearly better on Apple.

A great device!
This awesome Wireless Carplay adapter that I recently got for my has seriously made my driving experience so much better!Basically, the adapter lets me connect my iPhone to my car's display wirelessly, so I can easily use all my phone's features without having to take my eyes off the road. It's super convenient because I can make calls, send texts, listen to music, and even use my favorite apps without having to mess around with cords or cables. What's really cool about this adapter is that it works with lots of different cars and infotainment systems, so you don't need to buy a new car just to upgrade your driving experience. Plus, it keeps my car's interior looking tidy because there are no cords or cables to deal with. All in all, I'm really happy with this wireless Carplay adapter and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to make their time on the road more enjoyable. Give it a try and see for yourself!

Better to find a mag attached USB cable
The only reason to use this is to avoid plugging in your phone (preventing wear on the USB bport), or to avoid cables in your car.Phone calls are like making an international call in 1980...a high delay is added to audio, making conversations awkward and difficult....IF the phone audio connects properly (the ring is often distorted).High percent of the device simply not connecting...unplug USB and reconnect the ottocast to the vehicle, and suddenly it works. I have to do this every other day. I sometimes get noise displayed instead of the Android auto dis ok lay..like an ok ld tv with static. It's not reliable.Otherwise, it does ok switching between devices (iphone or Android), and once connected, maps and audio works ok.

It works! Fullscreen Android Auto in 2019 Mercedes C300
I have a 2019 Mercedes C300. I purchased an AAWireless dongle which worked great but only utilized 2/3 of the screen. I thought that this would be fixed with the Android Auto Coolwalk update, but it wasn't. According to what I read, it's a Mercedes problem, not an Android problem and would require an update from Mercedes to allow AA to use the full screen. Ottocast sends AA to the vehicle as Apple Carplay which Mercedes will allow to use fullscreen. The video quality and sound are great for me.It took a little getting used to using the Mercedes screen controllers to navigate. There are basically 3 columns in multi screen mode. Up moves to the column to the right and down moves to the column to the left. There is an issue with Ottocast not disconnecting for WiFi upon exiting the car since the USB remains powered. I have tried to use Tasker to disconnect the WiFi but haven't found a solution that works consistently. Disconnecting from the OttoCast wifi manually works, but I'd like an automatic solution .Overall I am very happy with this product.

It's ok but not brilliant
I use it for Android Auto in my 2017 VW Passat with Galaxy S21+. It takes it about 20+30 seconds to connect most of the time. Sometimes it takes a few miles of driving before it connects. On occasion the touchscreen of my factory radio will not respond to any touches. When it is connected it works perfectly fine. I don't like how it seems to have an Apple carplay bias on the screen. It only ever shows up as Apple carplay then out of no where, android auto pops up. I give it a C+.
