Now this is what I expected---a hard steel hinge. the product is great. I have inside corner braces on my gate and I know the hinges will help keep it from sagging. Also, better price than Home Depot

I ordered these hinges to replace smaller ones on a gate between my front and back yards which is used frequently. The old hinges were starting to corrode and appeared undersized for the heavy wood gate. The Hillmaster hinges were well made and there was little doubt they were up to carry the gate weight and not corrode because they were well coated. The screws that came with the hinges were also the right size to securely mount the gate. I would recommend this hinges.

needed a beefy hinge to hang very old wooden door - these were just the right size and weight. had enough "oomph" to them to carry the load and they look good. other brands heavy duty were cheap and light weight - not the case with these -

Heavy duty and love the quality!

The brackets are built heavy and functional, but they sent the shortest screws with them (I believe it was advertised with screws when I purchased). The screws are too short for large doors as this heavy hinge was advertised. I would have just bought better screws of I new that they didn't fit the hinge. When you are trying to fix a barn door it's better to get it done in a single day. Also it's really hard to work around horses trying to get into the stall for hay. This portion I would not recommend.

Worked well on my gate. Needed to use a screw with a bigger head than those that came with hinges.

I was expecting to use 3 on each gate section, but only needed two. Very strong and durable material. The size was exactly perfect. Good material quality. Installation is as straight forward as it gets.

I find these hinges to be quite durable. Far better than what the fencers had originally put in. My only problem is that the screws provided were using Philip's (cross), instead of Robertson's (square) or Torx (star). This makes then very difficult to use and easily stripped using an impact driver even with a pilot hole. I ended up using long GRK fasteners on the posts instead.

The hinges I received are much smaller than described. They are 8” long but the part that goes on the post or in the door jamb is barely 3”x1 1/4”, instead of 5 1/2”x 2 3/8”. They also have 3 holes instead of 5. Too flimsy and lightweight for hanging doors, and not as described at all
