Kikoi, though commonly known as kikoy is a traditional hand-woven fabric commonly worn by the coastal communities of Kenya and also by other communities in East Africa. Having been made of pure cotton, the kikoy is very comfortable to the skin hence can be worn by both men and women, of all ages. Two of the sides have handmade tassels. One can choose to wear the kikoy as a beach towel or wrap, a scarf, tablecloth, and may as well be tailored to make various clothes such as robes, shirts, bags and pillow covers. The ideas are simply endless; it's all up to you to be a little creative! A Kikoi is very easy to wash and takes a very short while to dry. Really nice fabric and worth every penny
I love these (this is my second one). It is so nice to have a wrap that stays tied at the hip. It looks great and feels substantial enough that I would consider wearing it as skirt (with a pin or two). I am wearing this and my Denim with Red Stripe alternately as we are dealing with 90+ degree days and warm nights. It's great for lounging around the house in and doesn't look like pajamas.

Worth it.
Good quality durable but comfortable cotton. Should last a while. Seems color-fast when I throw it in a cool wash.

Ordered 2 of these and received incredibly quickly from Kenya, delivered by courier…expected them to arrive in 6-8 weeks and they got to me in about 10 days. I’ve been wearing these since I used to live in Uganda in the early 90s and I’ve never been without one since. I wear around the house like a sarong. I’ve always had them in this same black colourway with the turquoise/gold yellow/red edge stripes. The colours have never changed. I have noticed that over the past 30 years the weight of the cotton has definitely got lighter from wherever I buy them, it’s not as heavyweight as it once was…it doesn’t make too much difference. Excellent seller and service, responded very quickly to a question I had. Highly recommended.

Very very happy customer
I was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time using Amazon, I wanted to replace my worn out and torn kikoi wrap. Unfortunately I didn’t have anybody in Kenya to buy one for me hence why I ventured on Amazon. This was my first ever Amazon purchase!!!!. I have to admit I was very anxious waiting from my product as I had never had to wait so long for anything I order online. I received my package today straight from Kenya!!! This is authentic Kenyan cloth! It was so much worthwhile the wait. I will definitely be making more orders in the future and recommend my friends and family to do so. Thank you for a great product.
