The item does seem to do its job well: the batteries (NiMh) are getting warm for only a few minutes before they are disconnected by the charger. That's supposed to happen and is quite important because overcharging reduces capabilities of these batteries. The charging indication is working well.You can select the current yourself: depends what source you choose: use either 1000 mA USB 3.0 port or an external adapter. You can also "alter" current by choosing to place one or two batteries.I wouldn't suggest connecting it to USB 2.0, which delivers only 500 mA and thus the USB port would be in danger of getting damaged.Doesn't charge alkaline batteries, they are being disconnected by the charger after a few seconds. What a pity, but the product description states that.

Great charger. Very portable. Because it uses ubiquitous micro-USB port, rather than wall plug it's great for traveling.I use it to charge AA batteries and it works perfectly. Even my old batteries that were no longer working with my old charger are working again with this one. Awesome product and amazing value!

I bought this to charge 18650 Li-ion batteries for my torches after the previous charger I purchased stopped working. So far this charger has worked well and I've had no issues.The LED indicators seem to do the job, and I like the spring-loaded retention mechanism - just hope it holds up over time!Be aware that this charger requires a separate DC power supply which does not come with the item - a good quality phone/tablet charger with a USB socket is perfect but the ability to use any USB power source makes this quite a versatile and portable charger.

I was looking for something like of this kind and i got itfor very good price. When i went in maplin it was much more pricey than here. It charges well doesn't its not very big so you can put it anywhere. Is a product which is very easy to use and is very needy for me as for i have rechargeable battery in use for certain things. This product is just what i was looking for in a good price

Works good, just put a plug with 2.4 mah( fast carger) and your 18650 battery will charge in aprox 1.5 hours

I bought this in January 2018. It worked the first 2 times I used it. I tried to charge a battery today and it no longer works. The 3 lights indicate the battery is charged, my appliance indicates there is no life in the battery as does my battery tester. Tried charging 2 AAA batteries without success so I tried one - again 3 lights, eventually, but no life with the battery tester. The batteries I'm trying to charge have only been charged twice before so not worn out. Also if you are considering buying this item, the AAA batteries are very awkward to get into position so may be difficult for people with reduced dexterity, arthritis and such like. The window for return is 4 weeks from purchase. It is Chinese but the item is fulfilled by Amazon. I certainly expected it to last longer than 2 charges. My advice - look elsewhere.

Great bit of kit, always conditions my 18650 batteries for my Rx200s to 100%. Batteries do not get hot or warm in this charger. Audible tone when batteries are charged is a welcome feature. When batteries are full and I'm out of the house, the charger stops charging which means it's safe to leave unattended. Don't waste your money on cheap chargers. This is the charger you should invest in for great results.
