I have used this type of airlock for several years now, primarily in making lacto-fermented sauerkraut. It does a great job. I use the airlocks on half gallon mason jars with plastic lids. A proper size hole must be drilled in the lid for the rubber grommet. I have not had any problems with using these and they are easy to clean. Be sure to keep the cap, internal hood and airlock together after cleaning so you can find them for their next use. I learned by NOT doing this!

No frills all function easy to clean good design

Great airlocks for bungs in my wine demi johns and oak barrels. I like the new style as they are easier to clean out. They are also sturdier than the other types that used to break at the stem when trying to push them into the hole.

Works perfectly as intended. Kinda hard to get them seated into the grommet.

Just as described. Grommets may seem small at first but they easily stretch out around the airlocks. Me and a buddy used 1/2 drill bit to a food safe bucket lid and got a great seal using them. Airlocks are large compared to my other ones but it's a non-issue for me.

Used it on my fermentation jar and it works well.

Great air locks. I had trouble cutting holes in my buckets for them but thats not an airlock problem thats a me problem

The airlocks are of decent quality. The grommets that are included are way too small for the airlock stem. the stem OD measures 0.45" and the grommet ID is 0.33" making it very difficult to insert the lock. I ended up going to Lowe's and getting grommets with 3/8" ID that fit much better but added $1.50 cost to each airlock. I don't think that you can get around this because I had the same issue with the one included with my bucket fermenter.
